    Re: MLB Off-Topic

The worst thing about officiating in sports is how it's a widely recognized/accepted thing that playoff calls are different than regular season calls.

Why is that even acceptable? You play all season long to earn the best playoff spot, and by time playoffs begin, it's a different style of play which is suddenly allowed to be played?

Why is it widely accepted that a player’s effort in the postseason is different than in the regular season? I think the answer to both questions is probably the similar...

Auction to feature baseball signed inaugural Baseball Hall of Fame class

The ball features the signatures of George Sisler, Cy Young, Tris Speaker, Eddie Collins, Connie Mack, Grover Cleveland Alexander, Babe Ruth, Walter Johnson, Larry Lajoie, Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner. All were inducted in 1939.

Seems like all networks doing that. Having long term deals in place. Last thing you want is risking some other network getting rights and then holding onto it forever.

Though in future, I wouldn't mind MLB having a TV deal like NFL. Get games on other networks too besides just FOX/ESPN

With Ben Zobrist getting a divorce, I finally feel able to say how awful his soon-to-be ex-wife's rendition of Benny and the Jets actually is. Makes me cringe every time he walks up to the plate as I want to turn on some real, authentic Elton John.

Cubs veteran Ben Zobrist remains on a personal leave of absence from the team, and court documents filed in Chicago indicate he is getting divorced.

                              I love/hate this question lol

Trying to remember which stadium hosts a super bowl each year is tricky enough, but it must also host baseball games, let alone a team that's been in the WS. I'm gonna throw the Alamodome out there as a shot in the dark

Either Pro Player Stadium (or whatever it was called at the time) or Qualcomm Stadium would be my guess. One of those flash-in-the-pan Florida Marlins teams (1997 or 2003) or when the Padres played the Yankees in 1998. Both Miami and San Diego have been in regular rotation as SB sites.

Don't think any baseball games were played at Jerry World. Or the Super Dome. Or the the dome in Atlanta. It would've been a national tragedy to have the Super Bowl at Tropicana Field, so nope to that.
