I believe that Maddon will go to San Diego and David Ross will take the Chicago job.

Glad to see the automated walks really helped out.

This is crazy that with the limited commercial time (something that he actually got right), the length still stays that long. Obviously the biggest culprits are the bullpen management, juiced balls, strike zone, and replay system (this includes holding out for time to decide on one), but it's about time that he seriously just shuts the hell up and stops trying to change the game from something that's obviously not working.

I would love for the balls to return back to normal, though.

MLB broke the strikeout record and the HR record. That definitely correlates.

Almost like game lengths vary in baseball and when you artificially inflate offenses, games go longer.

            Whoa.

I almost guarantee the increase is due to pitching change increases, not HRs or replays.

I'd love to see the variance analysis year over year.

Rafael Devers is the only third baseman in baseball history to reach 200 hits, 50 doubles, and 30 home runs in a single season.

Pace of play still isn't an issue. That strike zone on the otherhand is a major problem. imagine folks will catch on more once they see it more in the postseason.

I am really happy that they are ditching the September rosters next year though. and as much as I love dingers we should really go to the old ball because there have been too many normal fly balls that just go out and I'm talking even non coors games.

When they fired Ausmus, I think it was a foregone conclusion that Maddon has verbally agreed to take the job.

I'm guessing we could see it announced by the end of this week and Maddon be formally introduced early next week.

Teams should just hire tablets as managers. I'm sure that's a front office dream scenario for a lot of teams.

Yeah, I think unjuicing the baseballs would be met with pretty unanimous support from baseball fans. The "strikeout scourge" would then take center stage, with fewer homers to balance out the weakened offenses. But, then you'd have to think the launch angle revolution would go in reverse as players tried to level out their swings because the payoff for flyballs isn't as big.
