The Mets are losing the Binghamton Rumble Ponies and the Kingston Mets.

I think those are the first two dominoes to fall in the cutting of 42 MiLB teams.

The Brooklyn Cyclones will now be the Mets' AA affiliate.

So I'm watching a replay of 2003 ALCS Game 7 on MLB Network and it literally says on the screen "Boone Walk-Off Home Run". Like, what the ****? Giving away the importance of the game? So bad.

Also, needless to say that Grady Little's management has reached another stratosphere in retrospect. I mean, it was bad right there in the moment but 17 years later it is unfathomable, unbelievable. 8th inning, 1 out, men on 2nd and 3rd and Hideki Matsui at the play with Pedro at 114 pitches and Little goes out...to talk to him, not to get him out, to talk to him. It is incredible, so indefensible.

You didn't know that was going to happen in that game?

That's likely besides the point, it's the principle of the matter. Once I know the outcome of a baseball game, I'm not going to sit through it.

Unfortunately, this happens way too often when watching games on MLB.TV. Somehow it does something stupid and glitchy/buggy to reveal a score of a game that I'm behind on. Once I know, I just can't watch any of it (except for live portions or highlights).

I don't sit around and watch these past games on MLB Network either. Wake me when it's the bottom of the 13th or whatever inning it was.

EDIT: That being said, I do like watching the minutes leading up to it, kind of telling myself that it's interesting I'm the only one with the clairvoyant ability of knowing what's going to happen next, and nobody in the stadium knows what history is about to unfold in front of them. This isn't just limited to baseball games, but any major events.

I'm kind of sick of the only games being re-aired are the ones where specific events happen.

I guess that's what people want to watch. But it's the regular season. I don't need classic playoff games. I don't even want games where a specific feat happens.

I'd be happy watching just a general game. We all know the stories of these classic games. But hey maybe someone doesn't. I guess there's YouTube for that but you still have to search for something and often times on "Braves Classics" or some similarly name channel that basically gives me the result of some random game from 1986.

I guess it's just hard to watch something if it's not live. **** everyone responsible for this.

                    Then what is the point?

Because its known that its a classic game, and if someone were to search through a guide, it would show the game being televised along with a synopsis of what the game was and what happened.

If someone channel surfed and came across it, they are likely going to wonder what game this was and the significance, if they didn't already know.

All that little box is doing is providing that information without having to search for it.

The point is not to spoil the outcome/significance of the game.

"If someone channel surfed and came across it, they are likely going to wonder what game this was", that's fine the game was identified in the original broadcast (of course) 2003 ALCS Game 7 as it is the norm. Nothing wrong with the "TV guide" also identifying the game "2003 ALCS Game 7" and then if I choose to I can press the guide thingy and read the game description.

Putting an additional, unavoidable, permanent box that reads: "Boone Walk-Off Home Run"is not acceptable.

It doesn't matter if I knew that Boone hits a walk off in that particular game.

Because the next game MLB Network chooses to televised I might not know what happened and might not want to know what happened before watching the game.

But if I desired to know the "significance of the game" I could find it on the internet in 5 seconds or for the internet illiterate the already-mentioned "TV guide thingy description".

                      That's the point.

I wonder what it would be like if they replayed a game that people might remember, but might take a moment to put the game together, and listed it as "maybe something happens"

                          would people watch?

What if it was a boring as **** game with nothing happening, would people still watch the '81 Mets and Pirates play a random 6-3 game with no drama?

If they know there's no drama, or maybe there might be drama, would they still tune in?

games from the past, that don't matter today, are people tuning in for rando games or are they tuning in for drama?

Are you watching to live the moment or are you watching to relive the moment?

edit (reading this back I may or may not be making sense)

I think there needs to be some meaning behind it, but maybe also try advertising it differently?

Like if you advertise a game where a guy got a perfect game, you don't have to say it's their perfect game, but you can say it's a milestone game for that specific guy.

Obviously it has to be meaningful ones though. Mentioning it's a game where Jon Dowd hit for the cycle but his team ends up losing 10-2 isn't exactly one fans would care for.

I think that ESPN should broadcast KBO games at a reasonable time. I’m tired of having to watch a KBO game at 3:00 AM.

I agree that regular season games that no one would actually know the score should be broadcasted by ESPN or CBS or something like that.

I’m going crazy missing live sports, especially baseball.
