since it's inevitable the universal DH is reality sooner than later, the AL and NL will need something to distinguish each other as two separate brands. one league can have robot umps and real owners while the other can have real umps and robot owners. I expect the best Free Agents will want to sign with robot owners lol

Re: MLB Off-Topic
It's even better when those same people are appalled at allegations of the Browns and Dolphins actually tanking (or being asked to by their owners).

I just wanted to make a joke about the Astros cheating, I couldn’t care less about anyone tankingComment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
I just wanted to point out how some people curse those who tank in baseball while encouraging it in football. As I said, it wasn't directed at you in any way.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
LA County DA will not file charges against Trevor Bauer.
He’ll still be guilty in the court of public opinion forever and ever.

Re: MLB Off-Topic
I guess MLB may suspend him still X amount of games but he will be back eventually. He ain't coming back to the Dodgers, so either he will be traded or released. Lets see which team(s) thinks it can withstand the PR hit.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
As far as PR is concerned, do you think the owners care? Negative press is still press (see current situation). There hasn't been this much off-season buzz in years, even though it is 95% negative right now. It's like the Astros scandal. They helped every team they played sell out just to boo them. I expect Bauer to get similar treatment honestly...fans itching to see him pitch just to boo him.Comment

Re: MLB Off-Topic
Like I said, MLB may suspend him still, taking into account medical records that show the woman underwent a SART exam and CT scan which led to a diagnosis of an acute head injury and "assault by manual strangulation", plus alleged threatening text messages he sent to a 2nd woman. This may be deemed sufficient for a suspension by MLB since they don't subscribe to a "prove beyond a reasonable doubt" standard. They may suspend him, they may not. I'm leaving open for the possibility.
Dodgers are still on the hook, which is why I said they would either trade him or release him. It isn't a bout recouping the money, Dodgers can eat that money just to not deal with the situation of him having to comeback to the team. This is more of a "it would be too awkward to go back to how things were before and how can we pretend otherwise" kind of a situation. I think both parties would agree that it is better for Trevor to start with a "clean" slate somewhere else and even if he doesn't think it would be better for him it only takes the Dodgers to agree with it (except for his limited no-trade clause).
As far as PR is concerned I do think some teams, at some level care. I don't take the blasé attitude that any kind of publicity is welcomed.
That's my analysis of the situation.OSHA Inspector for the NBA.Comment

The best thing Trevor can do is just settle down, marry his agent (and best friend from college), and stop hooking up with randoms he meets online.
Because there is a possibility that you end up in a situation like this.Comment
