The All Star Game hats have been revealed and the AL ones are the worst things I've ever seen.

I know money... but why can't we just go back to the classic AL & NL logos? Then put the team logo on the sides of the hat.

      These are atrocious.

I mean, I'm a fan of them wearing their actual uniforms, hat and all.

For the HRD, sure you can wear the AL/NL top, but still with your team hat.

        Old school, baby.

No sugar coat, and the other 4 did what needed to be done, keeping their mouth shut and letting Reggie say what needed to be said.

Is the game being played at the Hello Kitty Factory?

Speaking of hideous uniforms. The city connects for Detroit are just terrible. All the cool stuff they could of done and they put tire tracks over the uniform like they got run over and Motor City in big font. Ugly

I know what the new rule is for infielders in regards to shifting, but are there any constraints on outfielders, other than playing in fair territory?

I'm guessing the corner outfielders can't play on the opposite side of 2B, but other than that, not to my knowledge.

Yeah, what I've been thinking about is bringing the center fielder all the way up to behind second base, then shade the leftfielder all the way to centerfield.

Is there a specific purpose you were strategizing this?

Note the two main reasons as to why teams would be unlikely to do this:

                      1) Getting a ball past an infielder is one thing, but if you hit a ball to a region where no outfielder is, it is an automatic triple. Inside-the-park home run is also in question.

                      2) A player is more likely to have their ground balls be pulled, and fly balls be opposite field. That is just the physics of the bat angle having a tilt approaching a ball. You can cheat this as an infielder and expect more pull-play off contact, but as an outfielder you have to respect the opposite field fly ball, and of course anything that a hitter is willing/able to do on their pull side.

You can't favor the outfield too strongly one way unless you're willing to make certain sacrifices. For example, Oracle Park has a 309-foot right field line but RCF is 415 feet, so many right fielders are willing to trade the line for the gap, knowing the best a hitter can get is a double now in this scenario.

Anyway, just some food for thought. Didn't know where you were going with this. I guess if pitchers were still batting and one you knew couldn't pull the ball well, this would be advantageous. Or you can have a "do-or-die game on the line" situation such as this one where I believe the Rockies were totally in the right to play it this way: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JZtXOerLAnQ

Yeah, I was just thinking of ways teams might try to skirt the shifting rules but I never knew that about point 2. It makes sense now why noone's already tried it.

I am convinced the Reds' medical staff has absolutely zero idea what it's doing.

6/6 - "David Bell said CES (wrist) has been cleared to progress forward. CES requested a second opinion and will get one. "All indications are he looks good." When he starts the ramp up, he'll begin with strength work and then go to hitting."

6/8 - "David Bell said the plan for CES (wrist) is to start his strength training ramp up in five days, and then start swinging in the next few weeks."

6/17 - "David Bell said CES going to the 60-day IL isn't a reflection of any change in the timeline. They're giving his wrist a few more days and seeing where it's at before making a decision on the next steps.

6/25 - "David Bell said CES is having surgery on his wrist. It's a three month recovery timeline."

I need a drink. I assume that when a Reds player gets injured, it's a career-ending injury. Makes it easier to deal with.

This ordeal started in April when he got hit on the wrist by a pitch. They said X-rays were negative and it was just a bone bruise. He played for a week and couldn’t hit. Another X-ray and they were like “there’s signs of an old fracture, but not a new fracture.”

Played a couple more weeks and still couldn’t hit. Another X-ray…”yup it’s broken, IL.”

Then this latest move was they did an MRI which revealed ligament damage. Perhaps if they had done the MRI initially…lol
