Well as much as I've bashed Lloyd in the past, tonight he's outmanaging Art Howe up to this point. Ironically it's nothing Lloyd has done, but a bad move IMO by Art Howe. Why he pulled Tom Glavine after this line is beyond me:

    7 IP 1 H 0 ER 0 R 1 BB 2 K 78 Pitches

This absolutly baffles me. In his first couple starts Tom Glavine has been pitching some of his best ball in the last two years, but then to take him out when he is pitching an absolute gem? A very intresting decision. The real kicker is that he only had 78 pitches, let him go out there and pitch try to finish out what he started.

As for the Pirates, talk about scoring when it counts. Getting 7 runs as soon as Glavine leaves the game. Got a little iffy there but Pirates pulled it out. The sad thing was, I couldn't wait to get Mesa in the game so we could end it.

Yeah how about that. When this season started, I never thought I'd be this comfortable with Mesa closing out games. He's been very good so far.

Oliver Perez looking real good so far:

                  6 IP 2 H 0 ER 0 BB 3 K's

This would be his second very good outing this year if he keeps it up...

Perez looked very very good today. He pitched well, and had great control for most of the day. The only reason he didn't get the win was because he had two walks in the 7th. He pitched around Piazza and put him on with 4 pitches. Then when pitching to Cameron, he lost his touch after that walk to Piazza. So he walked Cameron and Mac pulled him and let Meadows try to escape.

Long hair and all Craig Wilson is a beast

Nice stats for Perez, keep that walk total down (plagued him a lot last year, but oddly enough, despite his walks he had the ability to only give up one or two run per start). I hope he keeps it up.
