I feel bad for Ollie. All of those hits more or less were little cheap ones through the hole. Good to see Wilson come through. The NL Central has been really close so far.

I know, same happened with Eaton a couple of days ago, where the Expos just kept hitting 18-hoppers that found their way through the infield. Some Padre fans elsewhere are saying "typical-Ollie". I guess some of them prefer the likes of a Lawrence than someone who just had some tough luck against bloop singles. They fail to notice the five walks this season, something last year all the Padre fans were @#$*@ing about. A huge improvement, IMO. Too bad the bully could hold it for the win.

Some fans can be crap to former players of their team and I choose not to be one of them, I'm rooting for Ollie, even when he's pitching against the Padres (second game of the first three game series I believe, which will be in PNC Park).

Oliver pitched a good game today and he knows it, and Mac knows it. He has definatly limited the walks this year something that plagued him last year. He had none today, and had 7 K's, not to shabby. With the exception of that one bad inning where almost ever ball had eyes he did great. He even left with a lead just the bullpen couldn't hang on.

Ollie has been one of the most constant pitchers in the rotation so far. I think a lot has to do with the way Mac has been handling him. He gives him the extra days off, lets him pitch himself out of a jam (for the most-part) and lets him cruise when he's doing well. So far he has looked really good I hope his arm holds up when he has to pitch every fifth day because he has had pitched some major innings over the last couple years plus winter ball.

Yeah, once again, Ollie was just bitten by bloop singles. You take those away, he pitched a good game. 0 walks is biggie for a guy known to walk batters in his short career.

Back to those Padre fans again, one big inning given up by Ollie and they're calling that typical, maybe they should look at Eaton and Lawrence, who they somewhat prefer them over Ollie. Lawrence has yet to have a QS, Ollie has at least two of them.

Anyways, he should develop into a good one. It's one that a couple of Padre fans that actually still root for Ollie have to see blossom with another team.

After the game, Geoff Jenkins said that Oliver was "like Randy Johnson" which I'm not sure I agree with, and that he was "filthy" which I do agree with. There were really very few solidly hit balls in that game off of Perez, so I'll chalk up that fifth inning to bad luck.

NOW...let's hope that Vogelsong finally remembers today how to pitch like he was in ST

I sure hope Vogelsong finds it too. I have a good feeling though. Last outing he was solid, except for all the walks. He is still trying to work around tipping of his pitches, and he should get better once he gets more comfortable.

As for the NL Central it looks like it's shaping up to be a great race. The Central has the best record so 72-61 while the next best division is AL Central at 59-54. Plus of the six teams from other divisions that played the Central only the Giants have a winning record, so their not just beating up on the celler-dwellers. Speaking of celler-dwellers there isn't any real ones yet. Everybody in the division is at or over .500 . It's shaping up to be a real good division.

Here's something for you on Ollie:

                              Larry Walker:
"No offense to Randy Johnson, but I'd rather face him then face Ollie."

                              Barry Bonds:
"He has the best stuff I've seen from a kid."

The other left-handed power threats commented on Ollie, but I can't remember what they said.
