I'm listing to WFAN in New York right now. They are saying in a couple minutes that Ty Wigginton's agent will call in and shed some light. Waiting for official news, nothing solid yet.

Okay the agent said that there is no done deal yet. Rare that an agent will be the one to break the news. Their talking about that now. Still all up in the air, but as of 11:27 no trade.

i dont mind giving up wiggy for benson, but lets leave or future alone. as a mets fan im not " Giving up" this season but I am looking forward to next season and if benson isnt in that picture i say let him go. we can use wiggy in the offseason to land us a solid 4th starter, and use miliadge and peterson to land a decent 5th starter or a decent bat.

i dont mind giving up wiggy for benson, but lets leave or future alone. as a mets fan im not " Giving up" this season but I am looking forward to next season and if benson isnt in that picture i say let him go. we can use wiggy in the offseason to land us a solid 4th starter, and use miliadge and peterson to land a decent 5th starter or a decent bat.

I read somewhere else that the ChiSox would get Jose Mesa in the deal, I don't know how true that is though.

I read somewhere else that the ChiSox would get Jose Mesa in the deal, I don't know how true that is though.

Could be. There seem to be many conflicting reports. I just read on another board that Wigginton would go to CHW, and the White Sox would be sending 2 prospects to Pittsburgh.

I don't guess we'll know for sure until it's announced, though.

Yes, but no way the Pirates agree to that trade. They won't give up Benson just for Wiggington. That would be crazy for the Pirates to do that....

Yes, but no way the Pirates agree to that trade. They won't give up Benson just for Wiggington. That would be crazy for the Pirates to do that....

If the Mets only give up Wiggy and Peterson and sign Benson long term before the season ends I say they did ok. If the Mets dont land Benson another deal that has been talked about is trading Kazmir to Tampa for Zambrano. Zambrano is 29 and wont be a free agent for another 3 seasons. He is wild and does have some arm problems. The Tampa deal is far far worse for the Mets because they would lose their best young pitching prospect for a 3rd starter type in Zambrano.

If the Mets only give up Wiggy and Peterson and sign Benson long term before the season ends I say they did ok. If the Mets dont land Benson another deal that has been talked about is trading Kazmir to Tampa for Zambrano. Zambrano is 29 and wont be a free agent for another 3 seasons.
