Re: 6/15 - 6/28 Game Discussion Thread
I have been thinking how cool it would be if they have a reverse of last year...go from awful record to can't lose and win the AL West running away."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. Teams have been coveting a couple chips the A's will be trading but maybe the focus should shift to the Mariners? When does the sale start? Who they selling? Happ and um, Jackson?
That's definitely a better way to enter the postseason than backing in too.Oakland Athletics San Jose Sharks

Per FanGraphs' BaseRuns, the As have been playing like a .600 team.
6-18 record in one-run games (and 0-6 record in extra innings) is crazy bad luck. They've always been due for a turn-around.I write things on the Internet.

There's no other way to explain a SS moving to a far easier position and being the worst fielder in baseball other than being incredibly lazy.I write things on the Internet.

What was the deal with the ump coming at Lester yesterday? It looked to me like Lester was pissed at himself - not arguing anything. I mean, he knows that pitch missed. It wasn't even close.
Loved that the coach gave the ump a piece of his mind and told him to keep his *** behind the plate where he belongs.Comment

The ump was still the aggressor in that exchange though. Ridiculous.I write things on the Internet.

OK, I didn't see anything other than the ball 4. Was genuinely wondering if something else had happened.
But still it looked to me like Lester was making a gesture to himself about the path he was going for but missed. Then he swore at himself as he turned away. The whole thing looked like me after one of my bad golf swings...Comment

Umpires have been acting like entitled A-holes for a few years now though i'm noticing more and more that they've got a really itchy trigger finger. I will say though in the case of Lester both guys were acting out of hand but yeah, if the ump actually made the right call (that borderline pitch was definitely a strike) none of that would've happened.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club
