Guys like Soler and Heyward just show how tough it is to project power.

You look at their frames and expect them to mash the baseball, but it doesn't happen (Soler's not a finished product, though). Meanwhile, you have guys like Brandon Crawford continually doing the HR trot even though he plays in lefty-power-sapping AT&T Park.

Man....Lester is getting hit really hard today. Sort of getting lucky.

...although Crawford has an athletic frame (6'2, 210), so a better example might be Brian Dozier: 5'11, 190 second baseman...and a legit power hitter.

That's one of the things I love about baseball. Guys can come out of nowhere and become stars by making a few mechanical adjustments irrespective of what they look like. It's not like football or basketball where it's far easier in advance to spot the next superstar.

                  From a homer perspective...

I think if Andrelton embraced a high leg kick, it would help him tremendously to stay back and stop diving out over the plate (and chase sliders a foot off the plate).

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Not to mention the red hot Jays play the Yanks this weekend; should be an intense matchup too and see how legit the Jays will be rest of this year.
It will be blacked out for me so I didn't pay much attention but I'm pretty sure I read the PIT/LA game is on ESPN.

The two plays he made around the bag were fantastic.
