Oh god. That return is going to be huge.

Why do I feel the Dodgers getting him for a package with Puig?

Meh, guy is damaged goods and has the delivery that is going to result in lingering arm problems.

Do not want. Especially for what he will cost.

Eh, every pitcher is damaged goods. I'll take a guy that can do what he does.

Why would they get rid of him?

While I am inclined to agree with you, what it will take to get him will not be worth it.

Not for a guy that is another pitch away from his elbow completely obliterating. Now if he can alter his mechanics to get his elbow more externally rotated around the time his front foot plants, then it may be worth the risk. But given the fact that his mechanics actually got worse from 2013-2014, I don't see that being likely.

Even though I'm a Jays fan, I actually liked the Red Sox for a number of years during early-mid 2000s. Before they won the WS in 04. I liked their roster with Manny,Ortiz,Pedro,Damon,Varitek. Ortiz specifically was the one who I liked the most from that group.

Anytime I ever think of the DH position, Ortiz is the one I'll always associate with that.

Jose Fernandez is a guy that's a ticking time bomb. I feel like the GM that gives the world for him will end up regretting it terribly. It's a gamble not worth taking considering what the Marlins will be asking for.

I do agree with your assessment of his mechanics. At this point, I doubt there is going to be any change with the timing of his foot landing and his hand position. It's unfortunate because it's really not a difficult change, but he would likely experience a dip in "stuff" because of it.

That's the catch .22; do you alter your mechanics to be (relatively) healthier, but at a risk of being less effective?

And as for RedSox's question.. Sale's mechanics are a disaster, but they seem to work for him physically. He's had a couple of minor injuries, so I'm wondering if they're starting to get to him, and if his injuries will be worse as he ages. He could also just be a freak of nature that can stay healthy despite the amount of pressure/torque placed on his shoulder and elbow.
