This game is crazy, 11-6, heading to the bottom of the 4th. Wow.

        I think that's the game.

Sox like giving runs back for some reason.

nice play by olerud to get out of the jam, wow this game is interesting. They showed the red sox bullpen, and they only had like 4 guys in it. This game has been about 2 and a half hours through only 4 innings.

edit: jeter walked, and a-rod just doubled and the yanks lead 12 to 6

edit again: sheffield just doubled, and a-rod scored as the yanks lead 13 to 6, but at least the sox got williams out.

no one scored in the 6th inning, and javer vazquez has 4.5 era against the red sox this game. Not bad considerin all those runs came in the 1st inning he pitched. But he has thrown 80 pitches in only 4 innings, so i think they will probably get 1 more inning at most from him before giving it up to sturtze or quantril or loaiza.

Cairo just singled, so looks like tim wakefield will not be able to pitch tomorrow. I wonder who will pitch after derek lowe.

edit: Cairo was out on a force out, then Sheffield singles, a-rod goes to 3rd, then matsui singles and a-rod scores and the yanks lead 14 to 6.

double edit: Bernie willaims hits a double of off Alan Embree, and the yanks lead 16 to 6. If this game somehow goes into extra innings boston only has martinez who pitched a few days ago, schilling who is hurt, lowe who is starting tommorow, foulke who is their closer, myers who is only a lefty specialist pretty much, and timlin.

triple edit: Posada just doubled and the yanks lead 17 to 6.

I wonder at what point does a rivalry just end when it's clear one team's superior to the other?

I don't like the Braves, but I acknowledge the Braves and the Mets are on two totally different levels.. and it shouldn't be considered a rivalry anymore until both teams are back on the same level.

It's clear the Sox are not on the level of the Yankees no matter what happens in the regular season. It's pretty darn obvious, I think.. not only is this series over.. but I just think this rivalry ought to come to an end. It's just embarassing.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that the Yankees are going to win this game.
