What other reason does he have to bring him in for though? Maybe he was trying to get his confidence up?

I'm not sure. Maybe he was being overly cautious with a big lead. I've stopped trying to understand Francona...

it was an attempt to have pedro be part of it, since the yanks have smacked him in the last two seasons

Yeah, I think a lot of bandwagoners have a new team as of last night.

Its more just everyone loves to see the Yankees lose, but everyone knows that.

I understand wanting to see the Yankees lose, but that's a little different than delcaring whoever beats them to be your "new team." The former is called "hating." The latter is called "bandwagoning."
