I know wins are devalued a bit for pitchers but interesting "stat":

    Chris Sale: 8 wins
    Braves team: 9 wins

We are at the 25% mark of the season.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Texas fans get heated about Bautista's slide, but they easily forget Rougned Odor's slide on Johnny Giavotella last year. Much worse, he went in spikes up, NEAR THE KNEE, with intent to do some damage.

Bautista's slide wasn't half as malicious as that one.

He did it because the Rangers were upset over the whole bat flip from last year's ALDS.

          So it was coincidence?

So Bush just happened be aiming for a fastball off the outside of the plate and it happened to get away and hit Bautista perfectly in the ribs???

If anyone believes that, I have ocean front property in Arizona to sell you.

Bush had nothing to do with that bat flip. He was in prison when that happened. Normally if you're going to hit someone the catcher will get in position for an inside pitch to make it look an accident but the catcher was in position for an outside pitch. It was also the 8th inning of a one run game.

Eventually Arizona will have ocean front property so I'll take it [emoji6]

Does Bush not play for the Rangers? He was ordered to hit Bautista.

If you have the catcher setup on the outside then you can claim, as the Rangers are, that the pitch got away from him. I'm sorry, an erratic pitch that happens to hit Bautista perfectly in the ribs?

            Not buying it.

            And sold.

Cesar Ramos, Andrew Faulkner, and Tom Wilhelmsen. Why were none of them ordered to hit Bautista?

I actually just did the math. Bautista saw pitches from 12 Texas pitchers this season, a total of around 110 pitches. 5 of those were from Matt Bush. Why were none of the other 11 pitchers ordered to direct one of the other 105 pitches into his ribs?

Hell, the pitcher that actually gave up the home run and got "disrespected" by the bat flip threw him 4 pitches this season. Why not let him get some revenge?

Because in my opinion, the Rangers waited until the last game of the series and Bautista's last at bat, or most likely last at-bat, to hit him.

Also maybe they felt that losing Bush for a few games was easier to deal with than the other guys??

Great funny article about the fight.

"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

13 & 14. We will believe that this fight was about something bigger, that it's about what happened last October between these two teams, that it's about what happens when we demand our athletes play at a level of intensity that clouds their ability to harness their emotions, or it's about making baseball fun again, or it's about cultural divides between domestic and international styles of play, or it's about any of 50 other Big Picture takes one might generate, but thanks to Josh Donaldson's benign tag a few days ago, we can ignore all those hot takes and remember that it's about Rougned Odor really loving to fight. That's all. You can judge or not judge, celebrate it or plead for somebody to think about the children, but at the end of the day, Rougie Odor needs somebody to slug.

I think Bautista should've gotten 3 games but I can see why Odor got the book thrown at him. He took a situation that was boiling and turned into an all out brawl.
