Surely you aren't upset that he didn't make that last play? He was like 5 feet in the outfield grass. I could've walked down the line and made it in time on that hit.

First off, he cost us a run when he dropped the ball after having the runner nailed at 2nd earlier in the game. Secondly, yes, I'm upset he didn't make that play...it's a catcher running and Simmons, Seager, Lindor, Gregorious, etc make that play. His arm is AWFUL...

In the end it didn't matter, but 4-2 in the 9th is a lot different than 3-2. This team's offense continues to just be...awful.

Yea, the play earlier in the game was awful, but I don't care who was running on that final play, that would be tough for even Simmons to make. A backhand that deep and that far towards the line is going to be a hard play no matter what.

LMAO how long, did it take Colon to clear the bases? Felt like an eternity.

Something else I noticed. Is San Diego the Mets second home? They even had their own cheering section. Wild.

Aaron Hill with 3 homeruns, including a grand slam. Damn son.

And I swear Brandon Phillips is hitting a home run every night this week. Two more tonight. Insane.

because he's hit above 270 4 of the 6 years hes been a pro.

and who looks at BA these days anymore regardless? He has a career 770 OPS and OBP of 352 so far in his career.

He's a stud and will continue to improve.

I'm not a bitter Braves fan. I wasn't much of a fan of his when he was in Atlanta either. I've never felt he was a good hitter at any point in his career and still don't.

He's not, but Heyward's defense is what makes him so valuable.

Really, it's the fact he does EVERYTHING fairly well. He's a good hitter (high OBP/okay pop), runs the bases extremely well, and plays tremendous defense. He has established himself as a consistent 5-7 WAR player, which is superstar status, but because he doesn't hit 40 bombs, steal 50 bags, or hit .330, he doesn't get the recognition that he deserves.

He should have spent his career patrolling right field in a Braves uniform...but alas, that's life. I'll always pull for him.

Similar to Alex Gordon in the sense they are high War players that get undervalued in the mainstream media.

I always like Heyward, but his offense is definitely underwhelming at times.

Figures James Shields would be the one to give up a home run to Colon.

I heard they took a commercial break after Bartolo's homerun, And he was still rounding the bases.

At 42 Bartolo is the oldest player to hit his first home run.

                              I liked Dan Haren's tweet

                              Career accomplishments:
                              150 wins
                              2,000 strikeouts.
                              Bat .200
Didn't give up a homer to Bartolo.....

Odubel Herrera's bat flip on a [well] foul ball today...priceless (not as priceless as a Bartolo HR).
