Urias is being hard done by taking on two teams that are/have the ability to rake. Hopefully this isn't a situation where the Dodgers have rushed him though honestly, their hands were tied a bit.

        won't matter...

anything middle in not traveling above 94mph is getting whiffed or lifted...and if it gets lifted, he only needs to get a bit of it to pop it up over the wall.

        Today's HR? Same pitch...same result.

The article is okay. They're basing a lot of his mechanics off those gifs which are on pitches at two different heights. The 2015 image is on a ball at his knees, the 2016 image is a ball at his mid-thigh. The hands are going to move a little differently on those pitches, so I'm not sure if you can say definitively that he's changed that. You'd have to get two identical pitches to see how his swing has really changed.

Not saying that it hasn't; I just don't think there is much that can change about his swing because of his height and how he has to attack pitches.

Urias isn't ready for the show yet. That's okay. I did hope to see more but you can't always have what you want.

Well, no, the plan wasn't to have a teenager be a regular part of the rotation by June. He was supposed to get a second-half cup of coffee in the bullpen and then join the rotation in 2017, but when you have 4 starting pitchers on the DL, you don't really have anywhere else to turn except give the ball to the guy who had a 1.10 ERA in the PCL league.

We're going to be in the market for another starting pitcher. Some kind of inoffensive innings eater will do -- Julio Teheran, maybe?

                Kyle Hendricks, Ladies and Gentlemen...

Man, Cubs hitters seem to be seeing A LOT of pitches this year. Thru 8 innings the Dodgers have thrown 56 more pitches than have the Cubs today.

I'm going to try to follow this and see if it's so...does baseball ref keep track of individual/team pitches/app?

The funny thing to me was that this Dodgers team was loathe to spend on a TOR starter in the offseason and instead signed up every #4 starter West of the Mississippi in taking a depth approach. What happened to all that depth? lol. Just goes to show that maybe Price or Greinke would've been the better approach to mixing and matching parts all season for a team that can spend whatever it wants.

Now you've basically got a .500 team with the highest payroll in the game.

I know you're kinda joking but c'mon, the last time the Yanks were below .500 at the of the season The Fisher King was the top movie in the box office and Mariah Carey's "Emotions" was at the top of the charts.

You guys have had it great since 1991.

It's just crazy how productive he's been this year.

What a great job by Hector Neris to come into a bases loaded nobody out situation and get the Phillies out of the inning unscathed. He has been money this season.
