Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Is it going to be a whole new trade? That's my guess because it seems like more of a gentlemans agreement. There is no rule saying the Padres have to give back anything.Check out my dynasty: Rise to the Top: The Coaching Career of Joshua Morgan (NCAA 14)Comment

Rea will be traded back to SD. No word on the player or players coming back to Mia.
EDIT: Luis Castillo going back.Comment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
He'd be a good fit in Toronto. He would take up the starts that Sanchez would miss when he's in the bullpen and since he's still under control next year he'll replace Dickey in the rotation next year.

The Mets/Reds trade is about to fall apart. Reds are balking at the medical reports for the 2 Mets lower minor league players.Comment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Now, the deal is Cashner and Guerrero for Capps, Naylor, and Cosart. 100% steal for Padres.
My thought is that the injury was a fluke. Padres weren't pushing to trade Rea. I'm guessing that the Marlins wanted him in the first place. That's why they overpayed. You don't overpay for someone that the other team wants to give, you overpay for someone you want. And just Cashner isn't near the return.Check out my dynasty: Rise to the Top: The Coaching Career of Joshua Morgan (NCAA 14)Comment

That's pretty weird...Was it the Reds that balked at the Bruce 3 way trade to Toronto? Seems like their doctors are overly sensitive to everything.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Yes, it was the Reds that balked in the Blue jays deal. They also balked at Jay Bruce to the Mets last year as well.Comment

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Then we should be livid for them sending us damaged goods in Chris Paddock. This is stupid, I liked Castillo and his future. Dont the Marlins have medical staff that would have raised concerns? Why would Preller agree to take him back too?

Re: 2016 Trade Deadline Thread
Would be a nice deal to make as long as they don't give up much. Hopefully he wants to be here this time. I remember 2 years ago he turned down Jays offer last minute to sign with Atlanta for just 100k more, despite guys like Bautista willing to rework his contract to make room for Santana.
Still waiting on the lefty reliever too. Red Sox got one of the guys I hoped jays got, so just 2hrs to make something happenComment
