I'll go ahead and make the call.

Aaron Blair is not ready to be a starter in the majors.

      Also...GM called out Kemp:

“We see Matt Kemp as a player with a big upside,” Coppolella said. “He’s 31-years old. He is not in shape and that’s something we need to work on with him. He’s been told about it. We are going to talk to him more. It’s the kind of thing where, for him, you can’t really do that during the season. It’s not like you can drop 30 pounds during the season and keep playing

Coppolella said Kemp “isn’t real good in left because he’s out of shape” and predicted he would be a better defender if he gets fit. Coppolella also left open the possibility of Kemp and Markakis switching positions for next season.

With him not being in the best shape he’s still got 30 doubles, 25 homers, 80 RBIs and he’s hitting .260 which is a huge upgrade over what we were running out there,” Coppolella said.
For once, I agree with him. Amen, Coppy.

Man, the Royals offense is scary. Or can be at times, I guess.

Worst game for the Sox since that Angels debacle.

Red Sox pitching can be scary bad also.

Royals are 6 GB of Cleveland but just 3.5 GB of BAL for the 2nd WC spot (5.5 and 3 GB behind if they beat Boston tonight). I guarantee that no team wants to meet KC in a 1 game playoff.

It'll be a dramatic finish with no fewer than 7 AL teams (BOS, BAL, NYY, DET, KC, HOU, SEA) vying for 2 WC spots.

It could very well mean A LOT on that final weekend of the season in the AL. I think the NL will pretty much be settled except for the West.

That Jays-Sox series to end season could be crazy. Potential playoff/division implications, AND it's Ortiz final regular season games.

Jake Thompson has been such a disappointment for the Phillies.

Nice bounce back start for Marco Estrada after a couple poor pitching performances. The home plate umpire was a bit suspect tonight on both sides but it was nice to see the Jays show maturity and not let it get to them. Taking the first game of this series was HUGE.

Well this game turned in a hurry after the terrible ball 4 call on Cervelli. Instead of 2 outs (would've been a K/CS DP) and the pitcher up, it turned into 2 on, 0 out and now those 2 runs have come across.

So close. Feliz blew it, Watson served it up. Cards won, hoping for an extra innings Bucco win to keep pace...
