Re: 9/11 - 9/24 Game Discussion Thread
Watching this game, it felt like a playoff game...not being cliche either. I was on the edge of my seat every AB; the crowd was into it; the players were into it. Great game to watch.
Now as Cleveland gets ready for the postseason...I hear they're putting Kipnis in CF? I wonder how that'll go both defensively and since he's been scuffling at the plate - Lindor isn't leaving leadoff so I'm guessing Kipnis will be in the lower half of the lineup. Plus, they'll probably give Andrew Miller a decent amount of relief work to get him ready too.
If I'm Tito...the streak ended at the right time. Gives him time work with a few players and get them ready while also allowing the players that feeling of playoff baseball and what worked/what didn't in their ABs (like Mejia) to get ready for the real thing.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

Cubs aren't going to get any help from the fish tonight after an 8th inning grand slam by Neil Walker. Milwaukee bats around in the inning.

I haven't watched Kipnis play a lot; most of what I saw was from the playoffs last year where I believe he may have been dinged up. But, Kipnis looked pretty subpar playing 2B. Not very athletic. Not much range. Pretty shaky hands. He may actually be better than that as some of his career numbers suggest more of an up-and-down average player there, but I don't know how much Cleveland really loses by putting him (coming off a leg injury) in the OF with a superior defender like Jose Ramirez at 2B.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

The streak had to end sometime and honestly, it should've ended last night if it wasn't for the blown save by Herrera. At least the Indians gave themselves enough time to go through a bit of a slump as that's the usual M.O. after a long win streak. They should be able to get that out of their system before the playoffs and go on a deep (and hopefully WS winning) run.
As to my Local Nine, I'm glad to see Osuna came out and had a dominant ninth to close out the game against the Twins.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Got a kick out of this quote because Joe's right on the money, and anyone who's followed Lackey's career would say the same
"Impossible. I could say I'd like to see that, but why would I think that? That's the definition of insanity. Why would I think he's going to change in that particular moment? God bless him. I never want him to change. He's not going to change, so why expect that? It happened, we reacted and the rest of the group came together."

Lackey's the kind of guy you hate if he's on the opposing team but you love him on your squad though there are times you wonder if he's going to pop a vein during one of his tantrums.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Lackey being Lackey. I seriously can't stand that guy. He's gonna have a heart attack on the mound one night if he doesn't chill out.

Contreras gets 2 games, apparently. I'm sure he'll appeal, at least while the Cubs are still competing for the division.

Cubs' offense getting to Wacha a little bit here in the 4th. Not sure what it is, but we generally seem to do well against Wacha--he's got a career 6.45 ERA against the Cubs.Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment
