More details on Yu Darvish's contract:

*full no trade clause in first 4 years

*partial (12-team list) no trade clause in final 2 years

    2018: $25MM
    2019: $20MM
    2020: $22MM
    2021: $22MM
    2022: $19MM
    2023: $18MM

*Incentives include +$2MM each season for winning the Cy Young or +$1MM for finishing in top 5

    *Opt-out after 2019 season

I like the fact that the deal is somewhat front-loaded because it mitigates the risk of aging a little bit on the back end. If he hates it in Chicago, he and the Cubs can part ways after 2 years.

ShowTyme, please tell me this isnt true???????

      Makes no sense.
Idk man the Dodgers front office is trying to get rid of Kemp. They've also had a weird fascination with Ryan Braun the last 2 seasons. A deal is always possible, but I have no idea how likely it is. Until Rosenthal, Heyman, Morosi report on it I'd take it with a grain of salt for now.

Seems like an excellent, incredibly fair deal for both sides.

I think it's safe to assume, that Boras is the cause of this dreadful offseason... Not Darvish.

Agreed. Not 100% on him but he has definitely made it worse.

I've certainly warmed up to Boras a bit in the past decade, but anyone demanding a 9-year deal for someone like Eric Hosmer is truly a stooge.

Boras is just doing his job...and he's really good at it. That said, agents/money is probably my least liked part of pro sports, so I don't have to like that Boras is so good at what he does.

Braves are close to acquiring an outfielder.

                    Depth move apparently.

If I had to guess, they are signing Micah Johnson. He was in their system last year and they really liked him, but they lost him early in the offseason to a waiver claim. The Rays just released him, so I wouldn't be surprised if they give him an invite to ST.

The move is signing Chris Stewart to 1 yr deal.

Chris Stewart the catcher? Are we sure this is the move that is being rumored though? He's never played the outfield. I find this an odd move anyway...we already have Flowers/Suzuki.
