Braves are trying to add an outfielder. Looks like they could be discussing a deal with the Rays about Corey Dickerson.

Now the Royals have a hole at 1B. Wouldn't be surprised to see a guy like Logan Morrison end up in KC. He's from the area.

If we end up with him and trade Markakis...wow...that would be a coup. Mid April the Braves could be rolling with an OF of Acuna, Inciarte, and Dickerson. I don't want to get excited just yet...but would be amazing to go from Kemp/Markakis to Dickerson/Acuna.

Terrible deal for the Padres for an overrated player. Seems like a lot of people love to hate on Scott Boras but he’s a damn good agent. He’s done it again.

                Next year (2019)

                C - Hedges
                1B - Hosmer
                2B - Urias
                3B - ?
                SS - Tatis
                LF - Myers
                CF - Margot
                RF - Renfroe/Cordero?

                Nice core

                Gore
                Quantrill
                Espinoza
                Luchessi
                Lauer
                Paddack
                Baez
                Morejon
                Allen
                Nix

All coming up for pitching help.

I was a little upset at first with the 8/144 but after seeing the terms it does set up pretty nicely.

                5/100 (Age: 28-32)
If he's producing he'll get way more on the market than 13 a year so we basically signed him for 5/100.

If he does come back, 3/39 is a good deal

With Hosmer and Cain both signing elsewhere, the Royals will have 4 of the top 40 draft picks in the June draft.

I don't understand the Dickerson thing at all.

Sorry for the cynicism, but he'll be traded away within 3 years. He will displace Wil Myers to the outfield that will displace whichever guy would end up with the LF job, most likely Pirela. What is most uncomfortable for me about this move is how much more money he makes than any other teammate, 34% of the teams payroll.

From the outset, I flirted with the idea of him being signed by the Rockies, but knew it couldn't happen because of how out-of-whack he would make that payroll.

Just my old man view of the situation.

At least he’ll be there for 3 Years.

We complain when teams dump players or don’t spend money, so I’m glad to see the Padres do this.

The fans certainly deserve it and the players in that organization deserve to know the front office is showing they are interested in winning

If VMart can't play, I'd like to see the Tigers go after Dickerson. He could split time between DH and OF, and since he has an extra year of team control, he could fetch a decent return. It would follow the kind of moves they made with Fiers and Martin.

Sheesh a lot of crap went down while I was sleeping last night! Anyways, nice trade for the Twins as they now have a pretty good rotation right now. As for Hosmer, it's good to see the Padres finally got their man.

Good luck with that SD. That's an awful lot for a guy who has a good season every other year, topping out at around 3.5-4 WAR per.

Say what you want about Boras, and I have, but he gets **** done. Can't deny that.
