    Re: 2022 - 2023 Hot Stove Thread

I'm going to be interested to see how all of this is worded. The Twins are willing to give Correa $33M/yr for 6 and everybody is worried about his medicals?

Kind of had a feeling they would get back in on this with how long the Mets were taking.

I mean at some point this basically becomes the, "You win the lotto do you take th payout or the annual withdraw."

He went into the offseason looking to take the annual withdraw. He's going to exit the offseason taking the payout.

I don't think he's going to have trouble paying the bills at $33M/6

Assuming he plays ALL 6 years in Minn, through his prime years, chances are likely if healthy he's still be in line for another really good $150M contract. I'm not sure he's going to lose in the long run if he stays healthy.

Belt had surgery and says his knee is better now. He'll mainly be DHing.

If Jays get 2021 Belt in that lineup, that's huge.

1 year 1 mil. No loss. Still don’t like the signing though.

Good deal for a lottery ticket off the bench.

Last year even with it being a down year, still had an OPS over .700 vs lefties. You could do way worse for guys getting paid much more to be on the bench.

More guys need to just go Danny Jansen mode and wear glasses while batting if their vision isn't the best.

We shouldn't scoff at the fact that Correa agreed to $865M and 29 years worth of contracts over a 28-day period.

That's a record that will probably never be broken.
