Need to see the details before I make my decision but good to have more depth and a more reliable arm at the back end of the rotation.

He actually had a decent year for BOS last year. I was kind of hoping SF would pick up him and see if they could find the Wacha we saw early in career in STL.

Wachas deal has a weird structure that SD will def decline after this year regardless.

Fun fact he was actually in my class in high school when he got his draft phone call.

Probably won't happen, but should we see the end of the arbitration process in baseball?

Bo Bichette recently said how much he hates that and is glad he avoided it. Marcus Stroman was very vocal about it when we went through it. Corbin Burnes is the latest player to come out and say how that process strained his relationship with the Brewers.

So arbitration should go away because players dislike it? What's in it for the owners?

Maybe change it up so each side just privately presents their case to the arbitrator and that's it? How does management ripping on young players basically to their face and listing reasons why they should be paid less than they want help anyone?

Both sides present their case to the arbitrator.

If you get rid of it, then owners could just constantly low ball players under team control (6 years) and the player would either have to accept it or not play.

Just because people dislike the process doesn't mean that the process is wrong. I don't think anyone, outside of maybe lawyers and judges, like to go to court.

Think I'm reaching my breaking point as an A's fan.......Leaving the Bay most likely for Vegas, raising ticket and parking prices but continuously decreasing payroll. I've since moved from Sacramento to LA and the more I watch The Padres the more I find myself following them more.
I've never changed sports allegiances and it makes me feel gross but I'm getting real close here. Am I a bad fan?

I wouldn’t blame you for changing. There are a handful of teams in MLB where it doesn’t seem worth it to be a fan because ownership just doesn’t try to compete.

Usually I would say never switch teams. Dont be a bandwagon jumper. BUT… if the team is abandoning their fans then you have every right to find a new team.

No. Some owners just flip the bird to their fans. I don't blame you.

Jackson Frazier will once again be called Clint Frazier.

I never even knew he was Jackson Frazier...
