I never thought they day would come where a 13 year $330 million contract is a steal, but that’s what it’s looking like for the Phillies with Harper’s contract after seeing all the money thrown around the last two years

Does this actually mean an MLB blackout is lifted?

Also, very curious how this impacts teams' salary budgets and payments.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Owners make tons of money. They just have to reinvest it and stop keeping it for profits.

Personally, I love what the Padres are doing, and I wish more teams would follow suit.

This graph is flawed, as it doesn't account of consortiums comprised of multiple billionaires (ie, the Dodgers), but it's clear that many franchises could spend to be competitive but choose to pocket the cash instead.

Which MLB franchise has the richest owner? Following his purchase of the New York Mets, Steven A. Cohen became the richest owner in Major League Baseball.

I wanted the Jays to go after Gurriel, but guess he wouldn't have fit since they don't need a DH.

But then once his brother got traded to the DBacks, I thought maybe he would've considered going there.
