Trout is free to do as he pleases, but I treat him like Dame when he wanted to stay up there in Portland. You wanna play the martyr, good, but I don't wanna hear about you anymore then, go die in obscurity.

Sounds like they still want him, just not at current price.

        Again **** you Scott Boras.

I haven't seen that report. Is it just because they signed David Peralta and Dom Smith to minor league deals? Because there is no chance that either of those deals keeps them from bringing him back.

Every team should just freeze out Scott Boras clients. And knock him down a few pegs.

Boras isn't the only good agent out there, if I were a player I would sign with one that doesn't have all his baggage.

If he is healthy, this is a total steal of a one year deal. Let's see how his knee holds up.

There definitely needs to be a ST rule (indirectly called the Boras client rule).

If a player "holds out" until camps, they can't be with the team until ST. If they hold out until ST, they can't play at all during ST.

But do it for the guys making the big money (maybe a min of 15m per year is what qualifies a guy for this, or just any player who recieved a QO?) not those guys getting signed to 5m deals for a year in March or any of that stuff.

Players have 3+ months to come to terms on a deal. Owners definitely would be on board, but would the PA? On one hand, you want guys getting the most money even if they wait it out a bit. On the other hand, there's always a domino effect and if the top guys are holding up other guys from being signed, that's messing with the other guys money and their family's planning too not knowing where they'll be playing.

And let alone the ''where'', some of those guys and their families are wondering IF they will be playing. But I like that idea. Any interest in being Commish when Manfred retires? You have my vote.

Nice deal for the Cubs, glad they were able to get a deal done without having to commit long term

Great deal for the Cubs. Gives insurance for PCA and Busch this year while allowing room for them to grow, too
