Boston Red Sox 2004, 2007 World Series Champions
Nomar's homer off Pedro. Those four words just shouldn't go together. Not even on a day like 6/6/6. ~Bill Simmons -
Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
Congrats to Murphy on his first career HR. Here's to many more (as long as they are with the red sox :wink“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. We’re talking about on the biggest stage, in New York, playing out of position and asked to hit fourth for the New York Yankees. I mean, that’s never been done.” - Sheffield on SheffieldComment

Congrats to Big Papi on becoming the 2nd player in Red Sox history to hit 50 HR's.Comment

So, yeah, Craig Hansen. Wow, what a total bust he's turned out to be. He's Ryan Wagner II at this point. He got absolutely torched last night.Comment

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
I agree. He's got a great slider when he can throw it and a great fastball when he can locate it. Hopefully next year he can locate his pitches and he'll be our next great closer.

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
Ortiz hit #51 in the first inning tonight and it wasn't a cheap one as he hit it over the bullpen and off of the eventual Cy Young Johan Santana. I guess from here on out, there won't be much reason to actually attend games at Fenway now that Ortiz has the record.Comment

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
Seems everyone is overlooking the stellar performance by Beckett last night. He has finally turned the corner IMO. Last 30 days, 40IP 2.7ERA and only 2HR in his last 6 starts. That is damn good to see!Comment

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
Yes it is. Hopefully he has every thing worked out now and can be our ace next year.Comment

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
I hope some team out there thinks this isn't a fluke thing by Tavarez and is willing to trade something decent for him. Fluke or no fluke though, I have to tip my cap to the guy because he's done a hell of a job as a starter thus far.Comment

Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
At this point I wouldn't trade him.
With a fair amount of question marks over this rotation/bullpen going into next year (depending on what FA's are signed), he should be held over. (Yes I am shocked I am saying this)
He's pitched really, really well. And if he can keep this up he would be a great fifth starter.“Nobody in the history of the game tried what I just tried. Re: Boston Red Sox - 2006
The Sox would be stupid to open the season with Tavarez in the rotation. If someone wants to trade anything of value for him (and with a weak free agency for starters, and the mounting costs needed to acquire meadiocre ones, its possible someone comes looking), I'd do it in a heartbeat. Don't let one good month replace 5 terrible months.Comment
