2-0 and they did it the exact same way they did it on Sunday Night and all of 2006. Keep this up and another 12 game improvement won't be such a stretch

And the battery of El LoDuque will be a force this entire season this time around. They had a big part in all 4 runs scored.

            162-0 is still a possibility.

Re: 2007 New York Mets Discussion

Im going out on a limb here...:

The Mets of 2007 are better then the Mets of 2006. It all starts with the top of the order, and the best example came last night in the first inning. Jose Reyes is by far one of the most dynamic/special players in all of baseball. When he gets on first base, it is almost impossible for the pitcher to face Lo Duca, they are too worried about Jose. He is so much smarter this year then last year and even if he doesnt steal the base, he will be in the pitchers head and either: a) Make him throw a mistake pitch for a rocket hit (or HR) b) Keep trying pickoffs (which are wasted throws) c) over/under throw on a pickoff and Jose still gets second. Once the Mets have Jose on second and the middle of that order comes up, 8/10 he will score.

I didnt like the fact that the Mets were going into the season with Alou and Green at the corner outfield spots but after watching the first two games I realized that It may not be that bad. Green is a number 7 hitter, and as long as he hits .270 with 15 HR and 70+ RBI that is a hell of a 7 hitter. Alou will continue to hold the fort for a year for when Gomez comes up.

The Mets have arguably the best IF in baseball I believe, the only player that sinks them down is Valentin, and he has made some pretty nice plays in the field and is an adequate 2b.

Starting pitching was a concern for me, but Glavine is steady and knows what he is doing. All of my doubts went out the window after watching El Duque throw yesterday. Time and time again it seemed as if he was going to get rocked, but found a way to get out of it (even with pujoles a few times!) The way he has adapted to realize he can never over-power a MLB hitter, and now concentrates on changing speeds so drastically will really do him wonders and he will be fine (less strain on his arm as well).

The Mets will have a tough year ahead, no doubt. I believe that Milledge or another prospect will be traded for another arm, I also think that Pedro will have a one month set-back. All in all I think this mets team will win the division, with Philly right behind.

I love watching this mets team, and believe that because of the great mix of young and old in the clubhouse, Reyes/Wright/Beltran have learned so much in the last year that the mental mistakes will be diminished.

Did you also hear that Keith wore an orange undershirt and a met-blue blazer???

The only thing that can stop this team from winning the East again this year is injuries. If Glavine or El Douque go down for some period of time the SP would be in big trouble. The corner outfielders are good but long it the teeth and I do not think that Alou will not make it through the season without going on the DL.

Good to see Pops Franco holding it down for the senior citizen contingent... Let's see if Beltran goes yard again.

This is a VERY impressive sweep to start the year. They will be fun to watch again this year and hopefully as better October ending.

That was just cruel, we outscored the Cardinals 21-2 in that series

Couldn't have said it better myself. The offense is a given. If the pitching stabilizes, we could have another wonderful year. Maine was great tonight. I'm curious to see what we get out of Oliver Perez.

The Mets look impressive but the Cards look god awful. Anyway can't wait for the first series between the Mets/Braves this weekend.
