I watch the Mets, ok? Your team are the cockiest bastards in baseball and alot of their fans have taken on the same personality. From being on here, listening to 'FAN and knowing some Mets fans personally...the evidence is there.

Not talking about you, Spectre...but lots of your peers and the team you root for had this comin' to them for a good while now.

Mets fans should think twice about firing Randolph. I honestly think only the players can make you lose when you're up 7 with 17 to go. Coaches have impact, but good players should be able to rise above most, especially with that much of a lead.

I agree. Yes, it's humilating to make history like this...but when you blow that big of a lead in that amount of time, the bulk of the blame falls on the players. Blame Reyes for vanishing when the calendar turned to September. Blame all the guys in the bullpen for their ERA (around 6.00 this past month, I believe). Blame Lo Duca.

I'm not saying Randolph is free of blame...but to scapegoat him for this would be a kneejerk reaction, in my opinion.

wow, this is just sinking in this morning. cant believe the mets went down like this with no heart and no drive to want to win... we just witnessed history and not the good kind.. ugh, i havent ever felt like this before when a team of mine season has ended.. (maybe once when the isles knocked out the pens in game 7 in 93)..

maybe this is fitting since i'm a Cavs fan but seems to fit in right now..

Ya know what... fans of whatever team, I don't care. I still love baseball. As disappointed as I am in the Mets I still think the race was amazing.

Congrats to Philly. At least the Giants won last night....

funny thing is.. i am not upset that the Mets didn't make it.. sorry, but playing as poor as they did when they needed to come up big, they deserve to be sitting in front of the tube watching th playoffs.. this wasn't at all the same team from last year.. Reyes wilted in the second half, LoDuca seemed to be hitting into a lot of out in big spots, Delgado had a lost year, and the bullpen should have just brought out a can of gasoline.. it would have been a different story if they played their hearts out and lost yesterday..

blowing a 7 game lead... just crazy..

Alou, Wright, Anderson, and both Olie (except that last start) and Maine (bad second half, but he came back at the end) really were the bright spots on this team... (and Beltran, but too often missed at curveballs or took strike 3)
