Big guns such as Beltran and Delgado are pretty much pull hitters that don't take advantage of Shea's vast outfield real estate. Wright hits to all parts of the field, but his upper cut swing may not work to his advantage, considering Shea's outfield. What do you think of that theory?

That fit will change in a year when they move to the new park.

Plus I don't think it's physically possible to put together a lineup that is "fit" for Shea.

It would be the lineup for the Japanese national team that won the 2006 World Baseball Classic. A bunch of slap hitters that were all about advancing runners.

According to WFAN, a "published report" (whatever the hell that means) has said Glavine is turning down the player option and will not be back in '08.

Also, Mr Met has only 4 fingers. So even if he was to give fans of opposing teams the middle finger, he wouldn't be able to.

SO... season's over. Time to pack up, regroup and prepare to win the chip in '08.

What needs to get done? Does Delgado stay? Milledge get the nod over Green? Bullpen possibilities? Glavine's most likely gone... starting rotation?

They need to get some young arms in the rotation & fix the pen (ie- get RID of Mota).. must resign Alou..

You really think Green is done? Honestly, if he comes back... he deserves to be resigned. He did a lot for us this year plus he makes a great backup for Delgado at 1st. He was really solid in the position.

Delgado's absence offensively last year REALLY hurt us. Not only do we need pitching but we also need a bat somewhere else in the lineup that is consistent.

You mean its time to come out from our cell hole? Excellent! Man, that depression from last month was a whopper. Time to trim the beard and clip the finger nails.

Here's what they will do.

- SignARod and throw him at 3B, and move Wright over to 2B. Mets management knows that its near impossible to get the pitching we would like without being held up for ransom for our youths. We may pick a pitcher here or there but don't think that there's anything of "major acquisition". Unfortunately, the thinking will be offense (bludgeon our competition) to help bail our pitchers out most of the year. Now that Philly is the "team to beat", we need to offset their offense, and ARod will help do that. We saw that the age on this team won't be consistant enough to field the whole year and if a injury were to occur with one or more of our star players, we would be dead. ARod also makes sense to SNY, Shea's goodbye, and another marquee name, nevermind trying to erase the debacle of 07.

- Milledge is your LF/RF. If Alou is not brought back, put Milledge in LF else, RF with Endy, and Marlon Anderson as backup OFs.

- If you want to put Wright at 1B, would the Angels do Delgado and Heilman for Ervin Santana and Scott Shields?

- Pedro, Hernandez, Maine, Perez, Pelfrey, and some FA pickups....What's available out there this year? Speaking earlier of Heilman, why not try him at SP especially if D Sanchez is recovered?

- Sign LoDuca for 2 years. I like Posada but will he really leave? I like the kid Pena (Tony Pena's kid) in 3 years anyway.

Green has said that he would retire rather than be a "part time player".. about A-Rod.. no way, but if they did sign him, move Wright to 1st
