    Re: Boston Red Sox: 2007

I got from my trip to Baltimore yesterday in time to catch most of last night's game. Awesome 2 game series in Baltimore, don't think we could have picked two better games to see. Camden Yards is a beautiful stadium and definitly worth the trouble of heading down there. The Sox fans easily outnumbered the O's fans for the first game, while it was mostly a 50-50 split the second.

Last night's game was pretty much a continuation of last weekend's series. If Wakefield continues his hot pitching today the Sox will have a great shot at taking 2 of 3 this weekend. Daisuke looked great for 5 innings last night, just that 4th where he was awful. He rarely doubles up on any of his pitches which I think contributes to his loss of command at times. When a pitcher isn't constantly throwing a pitch he can lose feel easily. I'd almost like to see him throw more fastballs, even though a lot of his success has been credited to his ability to throw off-speed stuff in fastball counts. I also echo Remy's sentiments of wanting to see more of the changeup. That thing has nasty movement on it, he just needs to keep it down.

3-1 with Mo in the 9th with 2 outs with Cora on 2nd. Hopefully Youk can get on base so Ortiz can have a shot at giving us the lead.

Damn, the Yankee losing streek is over. A-Rod made a nice bare handed play to throw Lugo out at first.

Exactly where did the umpire blow the game?

Maybe you are thinking of the called strike on Crisp? I think it was a strike. Coco needed to swing the bat there.
Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.

I'm guessing that's what he is thinking of, and even it was the wrong call, which it's very debateable whether it was or not, saying the ump blew the game is a huge stretch considering:

                    A. Coco Crisp has been a terrible hitter this season so it's not like it he had a great chance of coming through there anyway.

                    and

                    B. I think the fact that the Red Sox only scoring 1 run depite the Yankees starting pitcher getting knocked out in the first inning had more to do with the Red Sox losing than one ball or strike call.

Lol. Coco's playin better of late. He had a triple the other day.

But that's beside the point. If he DID get a hit, than that would have most likely brought Big Papi to the plate, whom we all know is one of the most clutch hitters in baseball.

I think it's fair to say the umpire had a huge role in "blowing" the game for the Sox.

Well, maybe so, but we're not going to get them all.

Ortiz also hit into a double play twice tonight. Manny struck out looking. That's insane. JD Drew was nowhere. The one night they hold them to 4 runs and they can't hit the ball.

Yeah, everyone just really played awful today. But as they say, you gotta keep da faif.

Anytime this team wins a Tavarez start, I feel like it's a steal, but I'll take it. Cora has been playing his butt off on this road trip. A great way to end April.

Yea I know what you mean, especially when wins when were facing the Yankees and they have one of their better pitchers on the mound. Anyone else think Pedroia is gonna lose his starting 2nd base job if Cora stays hot?

Coco just made a great play in the outfield. Ball was falling in front of him and he made a nice diving catch to get it. But hopefully we don't have anymore "Did you see that catch by Coco" type of commercials.

A lot of good defensive plays tonight by both teams.
