Man, I don't know about any of you, but Hamilton is something extremely special. I know it is very early in his MLB career, but he has shown no rust at all or looked like he is overmatched.

Tonight, so far against the Astros, he is 2 for 3 with a 2B and a HR with 3 RBI's. He leads the team in HR's and now RBI's and has a .345 avg so far.

I just can't get over him not playing for 3 1/2 years and being able to do what he is doing. If he can continue to overcome his demons and stays healthy, he may very have an incredible career. I know that probably sounds silly considering he is just getting started, but I have this feeling about him.

    Something special I tell ya.

They were calling him "The Natural" last night on ESPN with the way he was playing this year without even practice above the Single A level.

Good for him, I hope he keeps it up.

I swear Arroyo has the worst luck.

First few starts of the year he gets no run support. Now he gets 6 runs of support but the bullpen can't handle a 4 run lead.

This bullpen has been terrible this week, just terrible.

Yeah, I was playing softball and someone told me that Arroyo was throwing things after the bullpen blew the lead? I didn't see any of the game. I have no idea what the problem is. I know it's early in the season but it's frustrating not having the hitting and pitching going well at the same time.

It's so cool to see Josh doing his thing out there. Just a couple of years ago he was playing for a local semi-pro team in my area. Now, tearing it up in MLB.

He has become a HUGE fan-favorite early in the season. Unless he falls off the wagon, and I don't see that happening, his popularity will only grow. I just hope they don't trade him for pitching. Not every day that you luck into a former #1 draft pick that finds his stroke with YOUR team.

Heck of a win last night against the Phils... I told my boys that Hatteberg was going to hit the HR... but was suprised when he actually did it, lol. He looked determined to get one.

We HAVE to get our bats woken up. I don't know what the deal is, but we can't provide any run support whatsoever for Lohse.

Honestly, I was watching the game at home, and I imagined Hatteberg hitting one out for a brief moment and then he does on the next pitch. Weird. That was a great win. Unfortunately they follow it up by striking out 15 times against Hamels on Saturday. What is their deal with lefties? Southpaws have absolutely owned the Reds this season so far.

Another thing that baffles me is how the Reds are getting dominated by other teams 4th and 5th starters. Unreal.

Yeah, that's another good point. I went to the game today. It was a nice day to be out but the game sucked. Belisle only made a couple of mistakes. Why Phillips tried to score from 2nd with two outs on that hit from Encarnacion to RF is beyond me. What a rally killer that was. I should have gone home after that.

                        Re: 2007 Cincinnati Reds

I had such high hopes for this season after the stellar spring they had and now they look like the same old crap team from recent years. Bullpen sucks, Milton sucks, no closer, no hitting, Dunn still striking out at ridiculous rates, Griffey with his nagging injuries, Ross looking like a one year wonder, no run support....it is killing me.

The bright spots for this year will be Hamilton, Freel, Harang/Arroyo (if they can find run support), possibly Votto (1B in AAA) and Bailey (if he continues to do well).

I know it is still very very early, but I really had hoped they would get off to a much better start than they have so far. They have always been and always be my team, but it is soooo painful sometimes.

I think Krivsky needs to do something with Milton. Trade him, release him, whatever. Pay his enormous, undeserving salary, cut your losses and move on. He could literally be the worst starting pitcher in the majors. I know he had a "decent" outing on Friday but he has not shown to me that he belongs in a homer happy stadium since he has been here. Get over him and move on please.

And please please please, get a damn closer. Make someone a closer. Do something but you need a closer. PLEASE.

Sorry for the rant, just frustrated.

If anyone shows any interest, he needs to pull the trigger. I agree. Milton needs to go. I think they will try to do what they can not to pay all of his $8 million/year. I thought it was a bad signing from the very beginning. All you had to do was look at how many HR's he gave up pitching in Philly at their new ballpark. Why Dan-O thought Milton would be fine pitching at GABP I'll never understand. I would have overpaid for Derek Lowe that offseason in a heartbeat instead of signing Milton.

                            Me too.. In a heartbeat.

I think our guys will turn it around. I mean, they've been competitve, had some great pitching performances from the top of our rotation, we just haven't been able to provide any run support. Our bats can't stay silent forever.

I don't know what in the heck Dunn is doing out there... I'm embarassed to watch the guy anymore. When almost half of your AB's are resulting in a strikeout.. something needs to happen.

I'm wondering if his back is bothering him. Remember the back spasms he had before the last game of the series at Wrigley little over a week ago? He hasn't been right since. Something is wrong.

How quickly the wheels appear to have fallen off already for the Reds this year.

SlimKibbles is right, they just can't seem to be able to put together a night with good starting pitching, good hitting, and good relief pitching. It just doesn't happen, and its very frustrating.

I mean, if Uncle Milty is starting a game and the team only allows three runs, thats as good as its gonna get. Of course, the offense was shut down and only got 1 run on a 9th inning solo shot by Dunn.

The reds starting pitching has the 4th best ERA in the NL and yet the record doesn't come close to representing that. Their bullpen ERA is, of course, last in the NL though.
