I read Gammons talk about a Rios and AJ for Beltran trade.

Nothing really rumored, just a thought from him.

That'd be interesting although i'd be hesitant for the simple fact that while he's very good he seems to have a rather "devil may care" attitude about things. I saw a quote from him regarding the Willie Randolph thing where he basically says that management should do whatever they have to do. He didn't even defend Willie or anything like that which is what you'd expect players to do for a popular manager.

Beltran and Rios are the same player, but Rios is 4 years younger and vastly cheaper. Throw in a pretty decent starter (even if we only have him for one more season) and that is a serious rob job by the Mets if a deal like that ever happened.

I know that the A's staff is the best in baseball right now, but it's frustrating to see Burnett losing to a rookie. Once again the top of the order couldn't get it done for the Jays when they had an opportunity. Hopefully they can turn it around as the game progresses.

Just had nothing today. 3 frustrating runs to give up, but its gonna happen sometimes. The offense needs to pick up more than one run, especially with a righty-heavy order against a lefty starter.

Yes, but this is just killing the Jays right now. I've never seen a righty dominated batting order struggle so much against lefties. It's like they forget how to hit against them. Perhaps they're not trying to pull the ball or something I dunno.

Oh well at least we didn't lose much ground tonight. Last I checked the Yanks lost and so did the Rays. The BoSox were tied with Seattle as well. I hope Seattle can pull out a victory.

At least no ground was lost tonight. The guys in the A's booth were acting kind of smug about how Burnett will be paid more this season than the entire A's rotation.

This is going to be the story of the entire season if the Jays can never get their bats going.

You know there's gonna be loads of talk about cutting Thomas if we don't heat up sooner or later, especially with Thomas' slugging up over .500 and his BA over .300 this month.

That was a real nice win in a battle of aces and another excellent outing for Doc. And Rios with a clutch hit to drive in a run? Man, I really hope the Jays will be contending down the stretch this pitching staff really is the best in years.

Yeah this team has some moxie to it. Everyone here at one point earlier in the season left this team for dead but the players haven't given up. Doc is just amazing. If active players were eligible for the Level of Excellence you know damn well that Roy would be on it by now.

I'm gonna throw out a Swirsky-ism here: "Onions, baby, Onions!" It wasn't pretty on offense but they got the clutch hit when they needed it. Unreal pitching by both starters, another save for BJ (although not as smooth as I would like...) I realize its only May, but just a couple games out of the wild card now and only 4 out of the division. If we can keep it close until Vernon comes back and if the bats get going I am certainly liking our chances with this pitching staff.

Well this one looks about over. Awesome way to start the road trip with two wins against a tough A's team and a victory over their ace. Hopefully the Jays can grab another series win heading south but I'd be happy with a .500 mark from the west coast swing heading into New York.

Everyone with a hit today sans Rios..0-5. Hopefully he gets something going. He needs it for his confidence.
