TarHeel - It does seem that this Bernazard guy makes a lot of enemy's. It seems he likes to step on people as he moves up the food chain. He is the same guy that has angled in the past for Omar's job correct? Who hired this guy in the first place?

Omar brought him on; he had a position with the MLBPA before that. I think it was more of Omar doing his man a solid, but thanks to the Wilpons' open door way of running things, it became easy for Bernazard to get the ear of Jeff Wilpon. As you may have been hearing, people are starting to wonder if Bernazard has more clout than Omar.

Like I've been saying, I can't find ONE article or quote about Bernazard that puts him in a positive light... Wayne Haigin even came on WFAN this morning and said that Bernazard won't even speak to people when getting on the bus. It'd be one thing if he was good at his job, but the fact that the minor league teams suck so bad has to fall on his shoulders, since he's the VP of player development. If I sucked at my job AND embarrassed my employers, I would not be employed for long... If I was real talented at what I did, they might find a way to tolerate my madness...

Trheel, thats actually a good point. It almost seems like nobody takes blame for any of this mess. LOL. why do the minor leagues suck? cause reyes and beltran are injured right?LOL

To those that saw the presser today. Did Omar really go out and cut down the local beat writer for the daily Adam Rubin? The papers seem to think so but I think maybe they are spinning it that way.

I didn't see the press conference, but I heard it on WFAN. He was talking about the articles being part of what they were investigating, then he said something like that he wasn't sure what to make of it because of Rubin's past inquiries about getting into baseball. Rubin was interviewed later and said he was invited by Jeff Wilpon on several occasions to discuss that, but never spoke to Omar about it.

It was brutal... Omar sounded ill-prepared for this press conference. He'd have been better off just reading from a prepared statement. Cause once the Rubin thing was out there, Bernazard was no longer the story. I never got on Omar in the past because of his lack of fluent speaking, but he sounded really, really bad today.

I watched it. It was shocking. It seemed like he went after Rubin because Rubin is credited with putting out the reports. Omar sounded agitated and vindictive. Omar will soon be joining Bernazard.

yeah this guy is literally a walking example of the 2006-2007 mets. Hot and flashy when its good, but the second things get tough, he is all over the place. Seriously he went after this guy in the press conference and like the dude said was omar claiming he conspired or somehting? NO, he just wanted to bash someone essentially so he took a shot at the reporter. wtf is that? who does that? This guy is the dude im going to depend on to bring the Mets a championship.

Get this guy out of here along with all his other "cronies" and people we dont even know that are helping him bring this ship down.

It was crazy... I don't think Omar will be able to survive this... The fallout is gonna be ridiculous. The writers will close ranks around Rubin, and this is gonna end very badly. You see how the press basically forced the issue with Bernazard and made it impossible for the Mets to avoid dealing with it? Multiply that, and you'll have the Omar fiasco that's coming soon.

You wanna know what's really crazy about today's fiasco? It was over a stinking VP.... Someone who we really should know NOTHING about. The guys on WFAN made a good point; we don't know who holds this position on other teams... So why is Bernazard's name so prominent? I just hope any GM or exec worth his salt won't see the buffoonery pulled today and not want to come here.

Just looking at the new york paper web sites, I dont see how Minaya lasts. Everyone is calling for him now LOL. Even The SNY anchors are calling him an embarrassment. Its hard enough doing anything in New York with the way the media is but when they want you gone, I dont know anyone who has stuck around. Isaiah Thomas stuck around for a while but I cant see Omar making it that long. The only thing I dont know about is how tight him and the Wilpons actually are, I mean this is pretty bad and to think they would go on acting like they will get over it and move on is silly.

I thought Omar was pretty tight with the owners, but it sounded like Jeff Wilpon had Adam Rubin's back, basically corroborating what he said about talking to him about how to break into baseball.

I didn't see the presser, but I read the transcript and I didn't see what was so horrible with what Minaya did. Was it the best judgment...no, probably not. I thought the reporter made it into something by being confrontational...again, I only read the transcript so maybe I missed something in not seeing it.
