From my understanding, I can't be too mad about this stuff about Halladay. There's no guarantee that Halladay signs long-term after his current deal is up; then we're out valuable prospects from an already sparse farm system. Plus I'm not sure he would accept a trade here anyway... Everybody and their mother knows that our offense is weak now. On paper it's a good deal, but I would need some assurances that I'm not renting you for a year and a half at the expense of my farm system.

Not sure what I think about the Halladay situation.

But of course it's Minaya and Manuel's fault that we've had the worst injuries in I don't know how many years. I expected as much here.

The rejected trade offer sounded good, but I don't think it was orth it. Mets should keep their prospects to see what they're capable of in the future. Now, hopefully the Phillies don't get Halladay.

Why does Bernazard have a job still? I tell you, after I started hearing the rumblings that he was cutting Willie in the back in the clubhouse, I googled his name... I couldn't find ONE story that didn't have a negative word about him... NOT ONE...

agreed, I wasnt exactly against firing willie, but hearing stories about this guy during that timeframe opened my eyes. and then the way the mets in general handled it def made it worse.

ROFL-- see the news coming out now? Apparently he's a tough guy and basically challenged the Double AA team to a fight.. Mets are now investigating..

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about; I read it in the Daily News this morning, and it's all everyone could talk about on WFAN. Then yesterday it was about how he pitched a fit because someone was in his seat at the ballpark.

Francesa made a pretty good point, I thought. Nobody knows who the VP of player development is on other teams... It is not a visible position... So why is this dude always so front and center?

Not only that but it seems like Minaya doesnt hide his affection for the guy. You could tell Minaya the dude shot someone in the parking lot and hell say something to the fact that they are "looking into it" and really give the impression he doesnt care.

Ya know, I don't care what sort of soap opera drama is going on in the clubhouse.

It would be nice if they could do SOMETHING about this team. Or are we mailing it in before July is over?

Not only that, he sounds like he's tight with the Wilpons as well... Some even think he's closer to the Wilpons than Omar is. So at the end of the day it may not even be Omar's call. Even Francesa is calling for him to be gone now.

Now there are reports that he had beef with K-Rod and Santana... Great... You now start to piss off your top two pitchers... Idiot bastard.

Funny thing is.....I can agree with him getting fired up( I heard it was about some guys drinking under age....we all know it happens, but considering they also suck......you can't just let it continue unabated...and let it be just a party with no consequences), but his act is totally unprofessional, time and time again.

I am not going to try to defend Bernarzard but doesnt all the bad news come from one local newspaper in New York? Maybe they are on a vendetta against him. I have no idea but I do hope that the Mets are really looking at all the incidents and are going to do something about them if true.

The one thing I do not like about a potential Holliday trade is his age. When we got Santana he was under 30. Holliday is 32 now and after he current deal runs out I am sure he would want a new very expensive deal. Giving a lot of money to a 32+ year old pitcher does not sound like a good idea to me.

If they fall out of the wild card race soon I do hope they dump all the old vets (Sheffield, Tatis, Cora, etc. and play some younger guys and see how they fit in for next season.

I know the Daily News seems to have a grudge against him, but let's face it, Bernazard has made it so, so easy for people to take shots at him. Bernazard has seemingly made many enemies in the past, so now is the perfect time for all his stuff to come out.

TarHeel - It does seem that this Bernazard guy makes a lot of enemy's. It seems he likes to step on people as he moves up the food chain. He is the same guy that has angled in the past for Omar's job correct? Who hired this guy in the first place?
