You know it is amazing that the Mets are still in this race. Sure it helps that nobody else in the division looks that great, but you have to give the Mets credit for hanging around the race. I think this team has that extra something that the last two Mets team did not and if this team is still close heading into the final weeks of the season I think they will pull it out. They do have to get healthy though. On the bright side they will not have to make any trades to get better. They could have two starting pitchers, a lefty reliever out of the pen, a power hitting first baseman, a gold glove center fielder, & a speedy leadoff hitter/gold glove type shortstop coming back in the second half of this season.

I also have to give a lot of credit to Castillo this year. Sure he is over paid, but it looks like he really is giving it his all for this team and did not shy away from the dropped fly ball incident.

This Mets team could be like the 1973 Mets who were banged up all year and in last place as late as August, but came roaring back down the stretch to win a mediocre NL East with 83 wins. If all the pieces come back healthy at the same time, you could see the same thing occur.

Got my first taste of Citi Field last night.. even though it was a loss (couldn't buy a hit off the Cards), the place is a real beauty.. Nthing you could have done about the Albert, bases loaded hit, after all, the guy this year is hitting 1.000 with the sacs filled

Didn't quite make it that far We ate at the food court behind the plate on the upper concourse.. Still have an afternoon game to go, so maybe then. I loved seeing "Old Shea" remembered in the parking lot..

Did you feel there wasn't enough "Mets nostalgia" at the place?

Probably my only beef. Seems like more homage was given to Ebbets and the Dodgers in Bklyn than the Mets themselves.

Burgers, fries and shakes... but they are OH SO GOOD.

If you're ever in Manhattan, there is one on 23rd street and Madison in Madison Sq. Park.

I am really digging this Nieve cat, man. He was talking to SNY after he came out saying he just wants to pitch well and whatever happens, happens... I think his spot in the rotation is secure for now.... Jerry'd have to be crazy to fool with him now.

LOL at Keith... Albert Pujols hits a blast to right center that would be long gone in any other park; but here at Citi, it dies right before the warning track. Albert is looking like, "how did that NOT go out?" And Keith smugly goes, "Welcome to Citi Field, Albert..."

Quite honestly, I didn't really notice it.. I actually liked the rotunda, and thought it was not too outlandish.. Hate to say it, but been to Camden also, and there isn't a ton of "nostalgia" of the O's there either...
