Yeah - just sad that we had control for most of those two games, and it slipped away.. oh well.

At least I get to see Citi Field in 2 weeks (Tues night against the Cards- sec 516 - "upper deck but right behind the plate..

Well Maine is now out, whoever is the conditioning coach of this team needs to get fired.

AM I the only one that sees the issues with this team? I mean its not like 1 player is having a horrible fielding year, its not 1 player getting these injuries,, its not 1 player that seemingly forgot how to run bases, its not 1 player not hitting HR's, Its the whole team across the board.

The whole entire team is the worst fundamental group of players I have seen in a while.

And with the injuries, I know teams go through this all the time, but we dont have guys making acrobatic catches and getting injured or guys getting injured sliding into bases. We have dude who are getting all these muscle strains and conditioning issues. Look at Alex Cora. Dude gets injured sliding into a base, 2 weeks later hes back on the field doing his thing. Now Look at reyes, i dont even think he has a return date. I dont even know why I complain, its not like it will ever change. we are going to go through this until they get a new manager and some new players. its nuts.

Dude, injuries are a part of the game. Everyone is dealing with them. Some teams might have a period where they get hit with more, but that doesn't mean something is going on.

I figured I'd pop in and join the misery. My head still hurts from slapping it in disbelief after Castillo dropped that ball... I'm gonna have to stay away from SportsCenter for a while.

Dude, injuries are a part of the game. Everyone is dealing with them. Some teams might have a period where they get hit with more, but that doesn't mean something is going on.

How? Let me count the reasons:

1) it's my guess that INITIALLY, he thought the popup was shallower that it turned out

2) that led to him drifting and drifting back and then to his left

3) it was clear too, that as high as A-Rod hit it, the wind definitely carried the ball towards the right of second

4) and as MOST of us know, any fielder...when they start that drifting and show inconsistant footwork--where they don't get a chance to SETUP under the ball--that's what happens. We've all seen it over the years. The panic/anxiety increases and that fact kept him from catching that ball with two hands as he would have.

Yeah it's real ****ED up it happened in this game that the Mets were going to win...but like Straw said, they just gotta go out there tomorrow and play with the same approach. Darling said it right...that's a ball that's caught 999 times out of 1,000. Unfortunately, Castillo dropping that one hurts...

but if the Phils lose (they were as of this typing), no ground lost...
so I ain't tripping too badly...

Up to that point, Castillo has been one of the better all around performers for the Mets

Rod, no excuse for the drop tonight. That was just... beyond words.

Might want to stay away from the FAN tonight... all the idiots are out. Castillo has helped us a ton this year with Reyes out... but this is all that matters right now.

wait a minute, what argument do I need? I was called a racist in this thread, and was disrespected, I refused to post in here for a while.

And second of all when were the Mets winning or losing? They seem to be playing pretty much the same all year. They put up a winning streak against the Pirates and Nats a while back and I beleive we got into it during that winning streak.

So your now trying to say I just show up during losing streaks.
