Reds named former D'Backs pitching coach to the same position on their staff.

    Reds name new pitching coach

    The Associated Press • October 17, 2009

Former Arizona Diamondbacks pitching coach Bryan Price has been hired for the same position with the Cincinnati Reds.

He replaces Dick Pole, who was fired on Oct. 2 as the only change on manager Dusty Baker's staff.

Price has spent the last 10 years as a pitching coach in the majors. He was with Arizona from 2006 until May 8, when he resigned after manager Bob Melvin was fired. Price also spent six seasons with the Seattle Mariners.

Price was a pitcher in the Angels' and Mariners' minor league systems before he started coaching with Seattle.

The Reds are coming off their ninth straight losing season, their worst stretch in a half-century.

      Re: 2009 Cincinnati Reds

Red GM Walt Jockety has been quoted that the Reds wont be lookin for any type of big name FA & lookin for other ways to adress the future.
Buster Olney then reported this morning on "Mike & Mike" that they're lookin to ship Bronson Arroyo, Aaron Harang, &..... BRANDON PHILLIPS! Francisco Cordero also maybe looking to be shipped. Its said to be done due to the economic problems.
All H3!! will break loose if BP is traded. That will do nothing but keep people from going out and put us back down to the bottom of NLC w/ Pit & Hou. Oh well atleast we got Cats & Bengals football! Whats your guys thoughts?

Walt adressed the rumor of BP being traded last night.
He said at this point there is no way that BP will be traded.
I think Arroyo and Harang will be traded this offseason, as for Coco Cordero I just dont think anyone will be interested in paying his salary.

Okay thats alil better to hear. I'm ok with Arroyo, Harang, & Coco going honestly due to age. Yet I think Coco also will be here bc the value in the FA market as closer. W/E happens though if we trade Arroyo & Harang we better get SP b/c next yr 5 if not will be extremly pathetic...

After the Rolen re-structuring/extension, the Reds have about $5 more to look for a SS or another need. Tejada and Cabrera have been rumored for 1 yr deals if the market doesn't come up to the money they currently want. I'd love to have another RHB in the lineup. Tejada sounds awfully good to me.

if I was forced to choose between those two, I'd rather have Cabrera.

More stuff now floating about Harang to the Dodgers today. I'd be ok with that, but the rumors are that Cincy would help pay his money and get George Sherrill in return along with an un-named prospect. I don't like the sound of that deal one bit.

I don't know, but I do know they would love to dump his $12 mil a year contract.

The Reds have signed outfielder Josh Anderson to a minor league deal with an invite to Spring Training, according to a tweet from MLB.com's Mark Sheldon.

I just read that. Unbelievable we were able to get him. I am in total shock to be honest. Hopefully this kid turns out to be as good as they are touting him to be.

Hmm, No one knows what Chapman will do at this level, but he could be a hell of a pickup. I like the pickup, Cincy is trying to do something. I am shocked they actually went after him though.
