Don't choke on your Cheerios. This will be the first of hundreds of stories about possible deals over the next two weeks. The Rockies aren't shopping Jimenez. General manager Dan O'Dowd told me directly that he has no mandate to move money, that he's not looking to sell.

There's little the Rockies could acquire that would justify trading the right-hander — unless someone wants to give them a front-of-the rotation starter, a top major-league- ready arm and a slugging outfielder.

The Rockies have never had a proven ace. Jimenez, when healthy, is that. Has he been a disappointment this season? Clearly. But he owns a 2.52 ERA over his last eight starts and has been among baseball's best pitchers on the road this season.

Great pitching by the Reds so far in this series against the Pirates. Too bad nobody on the Reds has the ability right now to knock people in. For the love of God, PLEASE STOP LEAVING SO MANY GUYS ON BASE!!!!

I know right? How bout we trade for a centerfielder that doesn't suck. Thing is Stubbs and Bruce have a ton of potential..

I saw rumors about them being interested in Chone Figgins and/or Coco Crisp? How are those two any better than Stubbs? Plus, they are way more expensive. Someone must be making trade crap up. I'd almost rather they sent Stubbs back to AAA so he can work on being a better lead-off hitter (i.e. more selective at the plate, better OBP, far fewer strikeouts, etc). Throw Heisey or Lewis in CF and call up Alonso to play left. I know Heisey isn't any better at getting on base than Stubbs but maybe if he had some sense of normalcy in the lineup on a day-to-day basis, it could turn things around. I love Stubbs but he needs to work on some things. Why not let Cozart bat lead-off?

Figgins plays infield? They aren't though. To be honest, both Heisey and Lewis should be playing everyday. Give them a chance to prove that they should or should not be starting. I don't know. Think about having Hernandez lead off .... He at least gets on base

Come on Reds don't let this season slip away! We're under .500 but still alive in the division. Don't piss this opportunity away. But the NL Central is more jumbled then it was at the beginning of the season, we now have not only MIL and STL to contend with, but now the fricken' Pirates. Ugh, it very well may be over when the Pirates are leading the Central.

Injury could've been a lot worse. He'll be back in 2-3 weeks.

I would love to see the Reds make a move for Ubaldo Jiminez or James Shields (who wouldn't?), but I highly doubt that the Rockies or Rays are realistically looking to trade those two and if they are, you would probably have to send the farm.

I'd like to see Chris Heisey playing more in LF over Gomes, and Cozart was tearing it up until the injury.

Also, apparently the Reds have enquired about Carlos Beltran, but are hesitant to give up the prospects for what will essentially be a rental. The Reds are also dangling Ramon Hernandez to pave the way for Devin Mesoraco to be called up, but they haven't gotten a good offer yet. Also, the Reds had scouts in Toronto looking at Mariners starters Jason Vargas and Doug Fister.

In a way I'd like to see the Reds make a move...and then again, this team as is isn't all that bad. I feel we've got a big winning streak in us, because we haven't had one yet.

I wouldn't trade anything for that guy. I don't care what kind of a season he's having. It's an aberration.
