haha, after Votto's homer i was celebrating and then i thought to myself "with this team, no lead is safe"

but with Cueto spinning a gem, i thought we were in pretty good shape

Great game from the Reds today. Cueto was awesome. Now I want the Reds to have a 10-game winning streak when they come home a week from Monday. It could happen with Houston and the Cubbies on the road.

Great to sweep the Giants. Now we need to go to Houston and sweep the depleted Astros. great to see Votto having a bit of a power surge here of late; just need to get Bruce hitting for some power, now.

really wouldn't have minded seeing us acquire someone at the deadline, but maybe the front office has all faith in the current roster being able to turn this around. I know Volquez has been pretty lights out in AAA lately. hope to see him bring the momentum back up to the majors, whenever that may be.

We should at least take 2 out of 3 from each series, if we don't sweep them. The Astros got rid of everyone on there team that had a resemblence of value and the Cubs suck. Definitely couldn't come at a better time in the year to get those two.

I'm kind of glad they didn't get anyone. They have the personnel to win the division this year, in my opinion, but at the same time, if you are going to do a deal, they need more than one player. I'd hate to have seen them trade a bunch of talent for one guy that probably would not be enough to turn things around a bit. I didn't want them getting Ubaldo Jimenez. He pitches every 5 days. Yeah the pitching has been inconsistent beyond Cueto, but they need someone who can play every day and consistently drive in runs. That said, I think the current team has people capable of doing that. They just aren't being consistent.

Lately, besides Arroyo the staff has been solid. Willis has pitched excellent so far, but the Reds like to blow the lead for him

Did you guys see John Fay mention a rumor he had heard before the deadline that the Reds were talking to the Jays about a Votto for Joey Bats swap? The Reds would have had to add a prospect too, apparently, which I don't understand. Votto for Bautista straight up seems pretty fair to me. Anyway, if that trade happened, which would have resulted in Alonso to 1B and Bautista in LF, what would be your reaction?

Well so much for that winning streak. 4-3 in 10 inn? C'mon.

If they don't win the remaining two and at LEAST take 2 out of 3 from Chicago you can kiss their slim chances atm goodbye

Losing a series on the road in Houston? Yeah, they might be done. I know... "lots of time left," and they have a pretty favorable schedule the rest of the way, but they shouldn't losing games to a AAA team. It's pretty sad really.
