I kid, but part of me is still bitter about giving up on Tyler Colvin even after he proved that he wasn't a capable outfielder in the MLB. Man.. those were some fun times.

now that Rondon is lights out again the 8th-9th should be Strop/Rondon. Put Motte in that 6th inning role. and just release Soriano he's not throwing 93-94 like the reports in the minor leagues suggested... everything looks flat. It sucks so much since the Injury Neil Ramirez hasn't looked the same he was dominant last year.

Missed the game today but hopefully I can catch the re-broadcast. 14 K's for Lester should calm any doubts we had about him. I saw that they said it was the first Cub to strike out 14+ since Prior back in 2004 (I was at that game! He was ridiculously good...16 K's...and the Cubs still lost, lol).

The Cubs FO has to be worried that the team scored 5 runs total in games that Yohan Flande and Eddie Butler started. There are growing pains, and there is just bad offense. This is the latter, I'm afraid.

Well I for one am pretty pleased at our lack of trade activity so far barring a possible Starlin Castro+ deal for a decent starter. There's no reason to pay high prices for rentals and such when we are not even in playoff position anymore. If we finish above .500, I will be happy and if we somehow make the 1-game playoff, I will be ecstatic. The front office has to save those bullets for when we really need them.

In the past Jim Hendry would've traded Gleyber Torres, Albert Almora, and 2 pitching prospects for Dan Haren.

Are you sure the Cubs are keeping him? Last rumor I heard was that we were aggressively shopping him. Deadline isn't until tomorrow so I guess we have to wait and see.

I thought he said that in response to double switching Castro out the other night as in 'you aren't being traded right now and I am taking you out of the game for pure baseball reasons.' If Maddon said something more recent than that, I may have missed it.
