Outside of Toronto and Kansas City, it's hard to think the Cubs might not have the best hitting lineup going into the Post-Season.

Schwarber, Rizzo, and Bryant have been inconsistent of late, so hopefully that turns around, but otherwise...

Pittsburgh is tough and have a very well-balanced lineup with the kind of hitters that should make you nervous...not because they're bombers, but because they all drive the ball well.

But I'll take my chances with the Cubs lineup vs. anyone save for the other two mentioned...and, pitcher aside, I'd take the bottom of our lineup vs that of KC and Toronto.

Nah, sorry if it came off that way...

I figured it would have to have been someone paid to say dumb things like that. You could tell a few weeks ago he was back on track, and it's beyond question now that he's earned his spot.

              Arietta going for 22 tonight.

If he goes another 6-7 scoreless and gets the W, not sure how you don't give him the Cy Young.

Looks like Jake's pretty well set up for #22.

                What a season.

                  150 H allowed in 229 IP (5.90 H/9)

                  10 HRs allowed in 229 IP (0.39 HR/9)

                  80% left-on-base rate

                  56.2% ground ball rate

                  2.35 FIP

Has Schwarber played his way out of the lineup? Has he been figured out?

He's about 0 for the month...

Lots of guys to fill up those two corner OF spots...

Or do you count on his "make-up" to bring out the best in him under pressure?

He's been adjusted to.. now he has to adjust. Every young player goes through it. I'm sure he'll make the adjustment, but I don't know about it happening in the playoffs. I think Maddon will go for defense over Schwarber's bat in the WC game, and look to bring him off the bench as a pinch hitter against Melancon or Caminero.

He will come around, although I don't see him participating in the WC game.

Rizzo went through the same struggles and was scrutinized heavily for it. Now look where he is.
