If you said we'd come out of this road trip at 6-5, I'd take it all day. But 6-5 and losing some of those in the worst way and sliding out of 1st place? Makes it even worse knowing and seeing the potential the team has.Originally posted by MoJust once I'd like to be the one they call a jerk off.Originally posted by MoYou underestimate my lazinessOriginally posted by Mo**** ya

Re: "This one belongs to Reds fans" Official 2012 Cincinnati Reds
Dusty manages nothing by what he (or anybody else) sees. It's all about getting shared playing time and making sure that "his" starters never lose their starting spot.
The way Frazier and Heisey have been playing the last several days, it is borderline asinine to have them not in the lineup today IMO. ...
EDIT: Dusty got a little fired up when someone asked him about Frazier and Rolen. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/2...azier-questionLast edited by SlimKibbles; 07-08-2012, 08:48 PM.MLB: Cincinnati Reds

Re: "This one belongs to Reds fans" Official 2012 Cincinnati Reds
Dusty doesn't like being asked the tough questions.
It's tough seeing a Hall of Fame caliber player not being able to get around on a fastball anymore. Be a team player Scott and tell Dusty that Todd Frazier needs to be the everyday starter at third base. You're done.
One of the biggest gripes I’ve had over the last few years is the mismanagement of the roster when a player is injured, and the reluctance to place a player on the disabled list (forcing the manager to play short-handed). If the Reds had just DL’d Rolen, he’d be available to come off the DL after the All-Star break. Instead, the Reds played with a 24-man roster for a week and a half, and got 4 terrible at-bats from Rolen in exchange. Not a good trade-off.Comment

Re: "This one belongs to Reds fans" Official 2012 Cincinnati Reds
We can complain about Dusty for days, hell months, but overall I'm very happy with the Reds first half of the season.
9 games over .500, going into the All-Star break with some momentum off the West-Coast trip, 1 GB from the Pirates (I must say, I'm a little happy to see the Pirates doing well so far. I like seeing new teams in the mix for a change. I would like them to get a Wild Card playoff berth especially if it keeps the Cards out of the playoffs.) and leading the Wild Card.
I think we've been a bit lucky, given all the offense struggles we've had. Pitching has been key. If the starting pitching stays healthy the Reds will make the playoffs.
It appeares Aroldis Chapman is "back." He has been dominant in his last 2 appearances, granted it was against the Padres. But nice to see him pitch well again.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

What a game last night. ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, sellout crowd, and the Reds sweep the Cardinals. The crowd was electric, damn I wish I was there.
Good outing by Homer Bailey last night, and Chapman was untouchable.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Huge sweep of the Cardinals coming out of the All-Star break. With 24 of the next 27 games against teams under the .500, the Reds have a perfect opportunity to put some distance between them and the rest of the division.
Heading down to the ballpark Tuesday night. Hopefully, get to see Cueto pitch. I love StubHub (two tickets, second row in the moon deck for $12 a piece...hell yes).Comment

Great...Votto is out 3-4 weeks after having knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus.
Apparently he originally injured the knee back on June 29th....and the Reds medical staff is just now figuring out what was wrong?????

Re: "This one belongs to Reds fans" Official 2012 Cincinnati Reds
It's mind-boggling that the Reds waited over 2 weeks to get the MRI. And he played in the all-star game, when he should have been recovering from surgery, wtf.
I think the Reds will be okay without Votto. I predict .500 baseball in the time he is out. Obvisouly losing the best hitter in baseball hurts, but the Reds aren't in first because of the offense. Pitching really needs to stay on track. Other then Arroyo's perfomance last night the pitching has been improving on an already great year, the Reds need more of that especially without Votto.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

The moment I read this I got really nervous. If there is a moment in the schedule for the season to be derailed, it's this portion and playing down to competition. It hasn't started off well with a pair of losses to the D'Backs.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Homer Bailey has been huge each of his last two starts. If he can be consistent. He has always had the talent.
