Wow I feel old. been a fan since I can remember and went to my first game in 1978 at age 5. I barely remember it but I found the ticket stub a couple of years ago! And yes, winning is so much better than being completely out of it around July.

I just hope we can get out of the first round. It won't be easy. But I'm looking forward to it.

I've been a Reds fan since 1973, thanks to my Dad,his Dad,etc...I saw my 1st Reds game in 1975...THE BIG RED MACHINE baby, & they were clickin' on all 4s that year...Johnny Bench hit 2 bombs that game. Fast forward to 1990...went to a game against the Cubbies, & I had pretty good seats just off 3rd base,was rockin' my headphones to the beat of Marty & Joe,A Big cup of Hudepohl beer in hand, & a bag of peanuts in the other...Derrick May at the plate, he swings & fouls off a pitch right toward 3rd, Jeff Branson tries to run it down, it bounces high off the turf,OMG this ball is headin my way.

At this point, it seemed as if everything was in SLO MOTION...I'm looking up from my seat & I see 5 or 6 people maybe, gathering against the railing. All of the sudden in single motion I jump up, Beer flies one way,peanuts the other,headphones still on my head, & LEAP toward the railing,stretching out my OPPOSITE hand,REACH over & above everyone(being 6'5 DOES have it's advantages) smirk: & snatch the ball right out of the air...the ball was destined to be mine...& I still have it to this day

Also chatted with Chris Sabo after the game for about an hr...dude was really down to earth...ole Spuds McKenzie himself.

Ah I must've heard 1 for a playoff spot. Yeah, Reds Facebook says 3 for division.

Doesn't matter who we play IMO. Gotta beat the best to win it all. Matchups are overrated in the playoffs. It's all about that game, at that time. Everything else doesn't matter.

Lol I remember that too! I do remember rooting for them in 1995 as well with Eddie Taubensee (sp?) Larkin, Brett Boone, Rijo, Hal Morris, Ron Gant, etc.

They were so bad for so long though its just fantastic not only that they're winning but I've got a feeling this team is going to be challenging for the playoffs for a long time coming... We've got the main core of the team signed for like 4 more years!

We appreciate it.

I think we're all thrilled to have this team. One that, by all means, looks like it's going to contend for years. In fact, it began in 2010.

And none are taking it for granted.

It's a wide open year. I've said Rangers are winning it all finally this year so I'll stick with that. And I know I said Braves as NL representative in the World Series prediction thread, but I see an ATL/CIN NLCS. My best friend is actually a Braves fan, so I look forward to that happening.

Just glad to say, officially, we're in. Too many collapses the past few years to say for sure until its official.

This is one of the strangest division clinching celebrations I've ever seen. I mean No Skipper???????? Dusty not being there just doesn't seem right.Even tho The MLB network is covering the celebration, FOX just flat out botched the coverage fo sho.

Yup, still on the roster. Looking forward to the coming season. Kinda sucks living in Michigan, because the Colts, Reds, and Pacers are never on TV.

Reds' Dusty Baker had 'mini-stroke'

Dusty has won a World Series as a player and been there as a coach. I'm not really sure he has anything left to prove. Though his head is telling him to go on, his heart(body) is telling him to stop. Some people age more slowly than others. Dusty doesn't seem to be one of them. Win it all and enjoy the rest of your life, get well soon Dusty!
