Very, very true. I was a Jack Z supporter for the longest time but I am kind of on the fence now... His picks on the offensive side better start panning out pretty quick. Once again, for the third year in a row, the M's are dead last in baseball in three major offensive categories. They're 24th in runs scored but that's only because, for whatever reason, they have been pretty good offensively on the road. I can see minor baby steps with some of our hitters, but there's a lot of regression thrown in there as well.

As a lifelong M's fan, I can only hope that at some point soon, some of these young hitters start to figure it out or some house cleaning might be in order. Hopefully that comes when/if the team is sold.

Remember Our hitters are YOUNG, so we should expect some hitters to be bad sometimes. Give them time to develop and soon you will see them hitting better.

I'd be appreciative if ya'll could follow my new Mariner's fan blog: http://northwestbaseballfanblog.blogspot.com/

I'll be commenting on on the Mariner's progression, scouting reports, strengths, weaknesses, etc. Feel free to comment on my blogs and I will try to answer them.

Carter Capps called up, Pryor recalled as well. We probably have the hardest throwing back end in baseball, averaging a cool 97 MPH

I like the trades. I'm pumped that Delabar was worth anything.

Very excited to see Thames, he's only 25, only has 400 some odd plate appearances in the majors, and he was rushed, not to mention he has some real POWER, glad Peggy is being sent back to Tacoma, and am excited to see Pryor and Capps!

The hitter better be batting .360 in the desert. That equates to about .250 in Safeco. Heat = hits

Rancho Cucamonga actually is the hardest run scoring environment in the CAL league, with a 91 park factor compared to High Desert's 118 (100 is average). Its easy to discount hitting stats at High Desert, but all of the away splits are legit.

The King is in Cy Young form... Just nasty.

Here's what Felix thought before his start yesterday...

I think 16 wins is the magic number for Felix. Honestly I don't think he loses another game, and with the pace he's on he'll lead the league in IP, K's, and have the best ERA of any pitcher with 200+ innings. Add in all of the advanced metrics and Verlander is his only real competition IMO

One horrendous defensive play from sweeping the Angels in Anaheim, Montero destroyed a good right-handed pitcher today, and the Hawks looked impressive last night. Nice weekend.

Dodgers fans have a nickname for Brandon League. "B" League!

                            I'm disappointed for two reasons:

1.) He hasn't found success with his new team.

2.) Mariners fans didn't think of it first!

Zunino promoted to Double A. Anxious to see what he can do there.

Good. He was making a mockery of opposing pitchers and had nothing left to prove.

Just saw Kathi Goertzen passed away. Sad, she was an icon when I lived on the West side.
