And they did it again. I think it's safe to say the offense is ready for the season to start.

Huddy starts Opening Day. I'm cool with this. Very cool with this. Was gonna be him or Medlen anyway.

Huddy definitely deserves it. He's a Hall of Famer in my book.

I love Huddy, but no way he's a Hall of Famer. In 7 of the last 8 seasons, dude didn't receive a Cy Young vote. And only one All-Star Game in the last 7 years (only 3 for his career).

              When's Brandon Beachy due back?

I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

                He's aiming for June.

....I love Huddy but don't think he's a Hall of Famer. Hall of Very Good, though. One of the most underappreciated players of the last 20 years, IMO.

He is definitely under appreciated. When one thinks of the top pitchers he doesn't come to mind, but he should. The guy has had a great career.

Gattis absolutely crushing the ball lately. Safe to say he will be the starting catcher on opening day with Laird hurting.

Gattis is hitting .396 with five homers this spring.

BTW - not sure if you guys have paid attention, but Tommy Hanson has an ERA of nearly 8 this spring with the Angels and now is hurt with a shoulder/lat issue. Can't believe we actually got something for that guy...but so glad he's not our problem anymore.

Yep. I think Wren learned his lesson with Jurrjens.

You aren't kidding man. I was so pumped when I heard we traded him. I didn't even care what we got back, I just wanted him gone.

Hanson was such a disappointment. Glad we got out from under that problem even if I don't care for Walden TOO much.

He was disappointing, but from the day he came up his mechanics have been poor. Pitching is ALL about mechanics and I can't believe they either 1) didn't correct it or 2) drafted a guy with such poor mechanics to begin with. You can't stop your motion and throw across your body without introducing serious loads on your shoulder/lats.

My dad was calling to trade him after 2010 when he put up a great year and was a hot young commodity because he predicted he'd break down before he was 25...he wasn't far off.

I was never blown away by him, even in his good year. Thought he was a good #2 or #3 at best. That little hitch was a disaster.
