Team has overachieved the last two years, Ludwick putting team on his back last year and this year somehow managed 90 wins with all the injuries back to 78-85 wins a year

Wow, you love Dusty that much huh? Super excited about making the playoffs but don't care if you ever go past the first round?

BTW, the team has not under any circumstances OVERACHIEVED int he past 2 years. We have been bringing up talent left and right over the past 5-6 years and we SHOULD be one of the best teams in baseball. But we aren't.

I don't know man, I guess I like to win more than you do. I don't want to see a team barely make the playoffs and then lose in a one game series or the first round. You talk about the injuries we had, what about the Cards? They had some hefty injuries. They also have a darn near new team. Yet they are still in it every single year. No reason the Reds can't do that too.

Peace out Dusty, hope the door don't hit ya!

In now way do I think we overachieved. I predicted 92 or 93 wins, which wasnt far off, but the lack of postseason success is the disappoitment not the record.
Dusty does deserve credit for helping get this team back to being a top flight team, I think some forget we were about as low as the North Side Losers in Chicago before Dusty took over. ITs sad to see him getting hate mail, people need to send it to Jacoby instead:wink: Dusty's team have always fell apart in the postseason, but he has a knack to get you there.

I think we need to clean house except for pitching, cause the baserunning was horrible and has been, so fire them all except for pitching coaches.
The players deserve some blame as well, so its not all on Dusty or Jacoby or any of the staff. Votto carries a lot of the blame, and until he decides that that Geek Bill James is not the God of baseball and quits thinking OBP is the GOAT stat were in for some rough offense, cause we dont have the money to go out and get more bats, Votto is suppose to be that big bat, not a leadoff or 2 hole hitter mentality. I dont want him swinging wildly like BP does, but he does need to swing when its there to hit and this year he struggled with that. Hopefully just a donw yr and he gets back to what he has been in th epast.

How ironic, considering you do the same thing.

I do agree though, this wasn't all on Dusty. Jocketty should have at the very least blocked the claim for Byrd. Injuries hurt the team, but outside of Ludwick people filled in fine for those injuries.

FYI Cozart had a higher WAR this year than Didi did according to Baseball reference (1.6 to 1.4). I'd definitely rather have Didi in the long run over Cozart, but we got Choo for a year for him, and although it was a disappointing finish Choo was arguably our team MVP.

So John Fay tweeted out that Bob Castellini is denying Dusty's account of his firing and that this theory is "someone's imagination". So now we have a huge difference in accounts between Dusty and everyone else. Also rumors that Dusty is attempting to organize a conference call with the media.

Bronson Arroyo is stumping for Bryan Price....
”I think he’d be unbelievable,” Arroyo said. “He’s as organized as anyone in the game, he holds people as accountable as well as anyone I’ve seen. He doesn’t buy into stereotypical things in the game, things that other people buy into that I don’t feel are relevant. Price looks at evidence. He’s a freaking smart guy, he makes his decision on reasonable evidence. Sometimes in baseball we go by hunches, what someone else said or they way things have gone in the past. He doesn’t do that.”

Then don't whine about the injuries we had and how they overachieved because of it, while tanking the last 2 weeks of the season.

A lot of that falls on Jocketty as he is the one that is making deals. Which brings me to another oddity, how the heck did he do so much wheelin' and dealin' in St Louis to make them what they are today yet he sits on his hands the past 3 trade deadlines? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Who was it that denied this team lacked heart and desire, and said that they are pro's they all give there all or something like that? Just read where even the owner said there isnt anyone who watched this team this year that could say they played with any passion. I wish I knew how to link stuff on the computer or I would do it, but Im not very good at typing let alone doing somehting like that.

Well, sounds like good news about Price.

Amazing if the story on Baker is true. You can't knock him for that. Probably best he left anyway, things were just coming to a head and this season could've been a disaster.

Sounds like Jacoby is as good as gone, which is the real good news. I guess that's why Baker was fired relatively suddenly. Hey, Jocketty isn't sitting on his hands this offseason.

I believe we'll do something this offseason to improve this team. Got Choo last year, everyone knows expectations are still high, and that this team had problems that need to be addressed. We'll see what happens. I kinda think there could be some serious roster turnover, some kind of huge multi-team trade.

I hate Rigglequitter is in the conversation as manager. We have enough quit in this team we dont need a manager that is a quitter.
I love Price as a Pitching coach, but I dont know how well he would fare as a manager. I guess after having Dusty's laid back approach I would rather have someone with some fire, not sure if Price is that guy.

Im just happy that Jacoby should be losing his job, I have been waiting for this day since 2011:wink: Im sure whoever Walt hires will do a solid job, the talent is there, just need a push in the right direction is all.
