Nobody probably wants to hear this in May. But this team feels special. They put the ball in play. They score with 2 outs. That was the problem last year. The strikeouts are way down.

Maybe that's because Judge and Stanton have been out. And obviously we are better with those guys. But it has been a breath of fresh air watching guys like Urshela and D.J just spraying the ball everywhere and hell even Maybin. We have excellent table setters this year. This team is incredibly dangerous.

I could go on forever. Voit, Gleyber, just love this group. So much fight. This team is better then Boston this year. They have a different swagger about them.

Hard to know what to make of this team until I know what it looks like, love what they've done so far but they're in perpetual wait and see mode until the postseason.

The slogan for this year's team should be "Next man up" I mean are you kidding me. Missing Stanton, Judge, Didi, Sevy, Paxton, Betances, Andujar, Ellsbury,(JK). Hicks just came back. I mean it's been amazing.

And yet this team is in 1st place. If that's not special. I don't know what is. We trotted out a AAA roster and are still on top. Kudos to the kids and the newcomers. Been incredible to watch.

And German... I mean it goes on and on. You'd think thats young Dwight Gooden out there.

German really has been crazy, reminds me of Severino in how he always had the stuff but being able to command it has made him a brand new pitcher. Hope he can keep it up.

Stanton back to the IL and shut down for another 7-10 days. If Judge were healthy I really wouldn’t care that much. Don’t miss watching his 200+ strikeouts. The way I see it, more playing time for Frazier. Can’t help it, when I think of Stanton the first thing that comes to mind is his ugly strikeout in game 4. Will probably be that way until it’s replaced with a significant positive moment. Or another MVP caliber season from him would work too.

I agree Rocket. Stanton has much to prove in pinstripes.

Other news. Torres and Sanchez are the Orioles daddy. Daddys?

Thoughts on Thairo Estrada? Kid has talent.

Stanton earned a lot of leeway with me playing hurt and carrying the offense for parts of the season when others went down last year, I'm not too worried. He had a bad couple weeks, it happens. Might happen again, his overall impact is too big to ignore.

Let's talk about how great a day it is (as is every other day) to have never doubted and to have always been a believer in the Kraken. Feels good.

The word on Thairo before he came up was his best asset was defensive versatility and his bat had little upside so I don't expect him to keep it up but again, he doesn't need to, he's just keeping the seat warm. Wild how well they've been able to temporarily plug holes, we're looking like the Dodgers as far as depth goes. Wonder if Clint gets dangled when the outfielders start getting healthy, with the way setbacks have been occurring I'd think they may want to hold onto him.

Yea and I like Stanton. He definitely did carry us for a stretch. No doubt. It's probably not fair to have his lasting memory as that strikeout against Boston. But this is the Yankees. And you gotta earn your pinstripes. That's how it is. And its always been.

I just don't want him to come back with the strikeouts. This team is flowing. They don't need that approach right now.

I love watching this team make contact. D.J is everything this team needed. **** the HR or nothing approach. This team is playing virtually perfect right now.

Just to touch on Gary. I knew he was gonna come back strong. He wasn't right last year. This guy has significant power. We talk about Judge and Stanton. But Sanchez can hit bombs as far as they do. For a catcher. He's Piazza level hitting wise, with more power.

I'm just glowing about this team. And I can't stop. The way they have picked each other up.

D.J and Voit. Man I just get this feeling watching them. Wearing that NY cap means everything to these guys. So I'm gonna stop. But good vibes man. I'm having a blast watching this group.

Oh and Frazier certainly has staying power. I don't want to see him go anywhere.

After the barrage of injuries they've had, it would seem absolutely ridiculous if Cashman turned around and traded one of his [premier] outfielders once everyone is back. I think fans would destroy him even if they were getting back Trevor Bauer.

I think adding a starter is inevitable. The lineup should only continue to get better throughout the year, and the bullpen has held strong even without betances.
I agree that cashman might avoid trading Major League talent given the amount of injuries. I think getting rid of Frazier would make no sense since he can still be sent down and replace Gardner next year (if it comes to that).

Only way I’d be ok with Frazier being traded is if it’s for an ace level pitcher that’s under contract. Can’t be someone like MadBum unless they can negotiate and agree to an extension, which I don’t think is all that realistic. If whoever they would get for Frazier walked at the end of the year that would be a disaster. Even Bauer is only under contract through next year. I think the contract of whoever they get would have to go beyond next year. The big arm they get back would have to be a lock to be around for a while.

And yeah, that’s not realistic to expect, so Frazier should stay put. If Andujar were healthy that would’ve been the guy to consider moving, not Frazier.
