Stanton was worth the wait. Hardest exit velo ever apparently on a homerun. It was literally like a bullet.

Gonna be close I think Torres is still the frontrunner. Kid already has a AS appearance to his name. Andujar has had some real defensive struggles. Both kids are awesome. Would be fine with either of them.

Ohtani is probably out of it now he's relegated to a primary DH role. Yet he still has impressive numbers.

Think it's gonna be Torres at the end. However, I'd be fine with Miggy or Gleyber

Not really digging all this rest Boone is giving everyone. Now we have to watch Walker navigate in right while Hicks gets the day off.

Also, I was not a fan of this Lynn trade but he has been steady and hope it continues.

Yea I've been critical of him at times. But I think we got to be patient with him. It is his 1st year. They are 30 games over. My biggest gripe has been his bullpen usage. But that was a huge peeve of mine with Girardi. My biggest actually.

I'm starting to wonder if all managers are just terrible with bullpens.

The bullpen is not in good shape. Yes, they have many top players but Boone has not done a good job puzzle piecing it together. Having guys pitch different innings than they are accustomed to has really upset the balance.

In today’s game I would have rather seen Betances close it out. He had thrown only 15 pitches. We need to win games, running Chapman out there with 1 or 2 run leads is too risky right now. Also that 100mph pitch right into Beltre’s leg, yikes!

Couldn't agree more Betances was shut down minus that balk. Boone is definitely over thinking things in the pen. Although admittedly that pen hasn't been too super lately.

Re: **The Official New York Yankees Thread**

All very valid and truthful statements, I find myself cursing some moves, plays etc while watching games, then I look up and realize despite a mediocre starting 5, 2 rookies, a non year from Sanchez/Bird, a slow start from Stanton etc, they have the 2nd best record in baseball behind only the Redsux who happen to be on a historic pace.

I think really the priority right now is getting/keeping everyone healthy, winning series and establishing the rotation both starting and bullpen for the playoff push. I really think like last year played out, the redsux are a better team in the season but I think when this team is fully healthy they are truly built for the playoffs

Boone has done a really good job perfect? No but who is, and far better then most 1st year managers

It's just second guessing all the time. Now Betances should've pitched 2 innings, but if he would've done that and got blown up then it's "I don't get why Boone didn't put in another pitcher." Before it was I can't believe they're playing Shane Robinson but Stanton has a hamstring issue and needs to DH. We don't know what's going on in the clubhouse but everyone is a better manager lol.

I still don’t understand why Shane Robinson was called up. Tyler Wade or Ronald Torreyes are far better options even if they played less outfield. At least you might be able to get some hits out of them.

I think because they figured with Gardner, Hicks, Stanton he would play limited time, they weren’t banking on Stanton tweaking his leg too, and I think they thought by now Judge would be about set to come back.

I don’t disagree with you I just think it didn’t play out like they planned it at the time

Remember the good times when we had too many outfielders. Sucks Frazier can't get out there. He'd have been a nice fill in.

In regards to yesterday, I think Voit plays a solid first base. He has not shown much in regards to hitting, although he looks very capable. I am not a Bird fan, actually I wish the Yanks would dump him. Everytime this guy gets a random hit all they talk about is "this the Greg Bird we are waiting to see". The guy does not have it.

Saw that in the last month and a week or so, since July 7, Sevy has 4 losses and Boston as a team has 6.

Also, Zach Britton is trash. I didn't want to say anything before the trade because I don't watch the Orioles everyday so I didn't know if there was an explanation as to why he was trash even before he got here, but yeah... Dude sucks.

AJ Cole also sucks but that's not surprising.

Starting to feel like the Adam Warren dump was incredibly short sighted. Cole sucks. I'll give Britton a longer leash.

Sevy definitely is hitting a wall. Might be best to skip a start.
