I said that out of frustration more then anything. But the point remains. He left Holder in there forever. The guy had 7 ER earned to his name.
I understand C.C just didn't have it and you don't want to burn through your bullpen in the 1st game of a long series. But 7ER? The Yankees were still very much alive. And he just left him in till the game was practically out of reach.
It was very poor managing and incredibly frustrating to watch. Seeing as the Yanks still poured on 7 runs of their own.

The Yankees all around have been playing garbage baseball. I don’t think I even saw these types of onfield mistakes during spring training. Yea the defense has not been great all year. Holder's decision to just throw it to 3rd was terrible. Could have changed the game if he makes the correct decision. Would have been an easy out too.
Let's see how this thing goes. I didn't expect to sweep the Red Sox . I'm not fully expecting to win the series without Judge and Gary anyway.
I personally think starting Adams Saturday is questionable. Not sure I want the rooks first team he faces to be the Red Sox. That's really throwing a guy into the fire.

Starting to think that this team is finished as far as the division race goes. They just don’t have enough to catch Boston at this point, even with Judge healthy. Luckily they are still good enough to secure the top wild card spot.
Starting to question the decision to let Girardi go as well. Has Boone really done better then Girardi would have? I’d say no. Girardi had his flaws as a manager but he was a proven winner and very experienced. Handing the keys to a title contender to someone with zero managing experience may have been a mistake, especially after they went to game 7 of the ALCS with Girardi as manager.Comment

Meanwhile whatever the Redsox touch turns to gold.
It's frustrating. But this team has a pretty soft schedule coming up. If they can't capitalize on that. That's on them. Boston is good, but they aren't this good. Everything has broken right for this team. Regression will eventually settle in. Just have to see if the Yanks can capitalize.
