Well it looks like we did nothing this trade deadline, and I’m ok with it. This team has just as good a chance as any other team to win it all if they can get at least mostly healthy at the right time. Already have a strong group when half of them aren’t on the IL.

Glad Clint Frazier is still here. Definitely less invested in the result of this season then usual anyway. If we win it all great, if not it was a weird messed up season anyway and on to a hopefully as normal as possible 2021 season. Maybe this organization can discover the secret to players not getting injured left and right by then.

Yea you pretty much summed up my thoughts. I'm glad we stood pat. I'm interested in watching the progress of Deivi Garcia and Frazier. The Yankees are not sellers.

We gotta get this ****ing team healthy man. This is getting old. Luke Voit though has been doing his best Judge impression. But damn. Half the lineup hurt again[emoji848]

Reviving this thread again, where’d y’all go? So we got Taillon now to go along with Kluber. If this is our final significant addition of the offseason other then maybe a Gardner resigning, I think I’m pretty happy with it.

Relying on a group of question marks and injury risks (Kluber, Taillon, and Sevy,) behind Cole isn’t ideal but I like the upside there. Rather them take a shot on Kluber then play it safe with Tanaka. If the goals and restrictions for this offseason were Resign DJ, keep guys like Frazier and Deivi, and no luxury tax this year, then I don’t know how you could do much better on paper then what Cashman has done so far.

Would’ve loved to see Hal get more aggressive spending wise to try to win with this core and sign Bauer to be our #2, but I knew that was never happening. So let’s just hope for the best. Maybe relying on Kluber, Tallion, and Sevy, will be a disaster or maybe Cashman will look like a genius.

Very interesting off-season. I don't know how to feel about it. I love the D.J signing. You gotta do it. So I'm happy about that.

Kluber and Taillon could be great signings. But the injury history leaves me skeptical.
This team is as good as anyone. But they have to figure out how to get to a World series. I'm through getting excited about this team. Find a way over the hump. Window is closing.

Health will be the biggest issue going forward. Hopefully Sevy can come back right and maybe German can get back in the rotation or bullpen. And Deivi can take that next step.

Ceiling for this rotation is extremely high but so is the risk.

Given the reality that they aren’t going to spend whatever it takes anymore I like the off-season. Absolutely had to resign DJ

Well now we traded Ottavino to Boston. Don’t really like this one at all, especially if it’s just to open a bit of space to bring Gardner back. According to MLBTR they only had about 1M in spending room left and they also resumed discussions with Gardner so I’m guessing that’s what this is.

Really hope Cashman is right on this one and Ottavino is done. Watching him rebound and be a solid bullpen arm again in Boston over.....Brett Gardner.....would hurt. No hate towards Gardy, he just wouldn’t be the more valuable of the two in that situation in my opinion

How about German cracking the top three in the rotation. Shocked the hell out of me.

Exactly lol. I was floored to here he made Boones rotation. Let alone top three. Did look good in Spring though. If he's right and matured. that's gonna be a big arm added.

Of course it’s against the Tigers, but love seeing a vintage Kluber outing today. 8 IP, 2 hits, 10K’s. Let’s see some more of this please.

This team is annoying. I don't have any words at the moment. They annoy the hell out of me. And right now they are not fun to watch.

I’m getting more and more on board with the fire Cashman train. Time to clean house at the end of the year in my opinion. I don’t think he’s a bad GM, but he’s definitely not ‘CashGod’ either. The Cashman era in NY has just run it’s course I think. He’s had some nice ‘diamond in the rough’ finds like Voit and Urshela, but he’s also had huge misses like the Ellsbury and Stanton contracts, acquiring Sonny Gray, etc. Moving on from Girardi for a ‘clubhouse manager’ with no managing experience doesn’t look like it was the right move for these players either.

It’s obvious a good chunk of ‘Boone’s decisions’ aren’t actually his to make, and the way a Cashman led front office uses analytics often just gets confusing. Odor in the 3 hole the other day? Unacceptable. If you’re going to obsess over plugging lefty bats into certain spots in the lineup to break it up, those lefty bats can’t be mediocre. Somehow I can’t imagine the Rays or Dodgers batting Odor 3rd.

From the obvious ‘punt games’ to the ridiculous overly cautious management of Stanton, which he’s already missed time this year anyway. So much money being tied up in a part time DH is crazy. His injuries will come either way. Needing wins in Philly, you bench a big bat cause you’re terrified to let him play the field? Unacceptable.

I’d like to think a new manager would fix all this, but as long as Cashman hires another guy to meddle with just as much, it’s not going to change. Team needs a new GM ready to make real changes to how things are run and the roster. This group’s window is about closed. A shame how things have regressed since that magic 2017. I hope we don’t burn any significant young talent in the system trying to reinforce this group.

A minor sell off in July, with Boone and Cashman gone at the end of the year is the ideal scenario IMO. It’s pretty unlikely this team will wake up and suddenly be the WS contender they were meant to be at this point.

                              Rant over haha.

                                Big series this weekend.
